  1. yes, its an entire episode of Taxi, but it shows the brilliance of Christopher Lloyd and the great writers of the show. After yesterday, I just needed a good laugh......
  2. Don't care if it moves the needle. He stood there and challenged him and THATS WHAT I WANT........CHALLENGE THESE BASTARDS AT EVERY TURN.............Jesus, put Howard Dean back in charge of the party. Why do you think I like Katie Porter so much? No more wishy-washy nice guy shit. People are god damned angry, step into it.......fucking use it.
  3. This if for you, Greg Abbot and the voters in Texas.
  4. No, I can't imagine because this "Democracy" of ours put the guy in office that got fewer votes.
  5. Our republic is great if you're a wealthy white landowner. For everyone else, they are marginalized.
  6. There were several armed personnel at Fort Hood........during TWO mass shooting events where 13 and 4 people were killed. And many of the folks killed were armed and trained for combat (some were unarmed office workers). This "arm everybody" narrative doesn't take into account that it's probably gonna take a few seconds to realize what's going on, try to protect students, find the firearm (teachers with hip holsters is so disturbing) and actually try to mentally process what needs to be done.........and then to expect a regular person to be as calm as a professionally trained SWAT member is asking a lot. Even cops get rattled in extreme situations and it's what they train for. When Sully had to land that plane in the Hudson, at first they tried to make it look like he failed to get the plane to a nearby airport because when they ran simulations they immediately decided to turn for an airport as soon as the birds hit the plane. They did not take into account that it took some time to assess how serious the bird strike was before deciding to take the plane down. You have to factor in human emotion, panic and the variable of hundreds of other people acting in an unpredictable way. This ain't a video game.
  7. In 1991 two things happened that really set us on this path. Wayne LaPierre took over the NRA and turned it into what it is now and the Pharmaceutical Industry met and started their very hard push to widen the net for psychological disorders that would be qualified to use their many drugs. Those two things go hand-in-hand. It was all about money.
  8. The senate needs to be based on population. California has roughly 80 times the population of Wyoming. California should have 6 senators, Wyoming should have 1. Not every California senator would be a Democrat. Even 6 to 1 wouldn't be fair. DC gets no representation in the Senate, which is ridiculous since they have a bigger population than Wyoming.
  9. Most gun owners actually do want some reform, but they are drowned out by the loudmouths with the NRA.
  10. All this attention turns to Matthew McConaughey now because this is his hometown. Why? What the fuck is he going to do? He's a fucking actor. Celebrity worship is another problem in this country and it's why we wound up with the must unqualified person to ever be President. I like Matthew, but who the fuck cares what he thinks? yeah, he thinks it's tragic.........he's human, no shock there. Celebrity Worship. If Oprah ran for the Democrats, she'd be their nominee in a blink, it wouldn't even be close.
  11. Schools will look like prisons soon. That probably isn't going to help the mental health of children. That's going to be our solution. The prison industry will be put in charge of it and someone will get rich, how American.
  12. We don't let 18-20 year olds legally drink. Why? Because they are not mature enough. Well if they aren't mature enough to drink...........Two people under 21 in the last 10 days, 13 and 21 victims. Now these folks have to deal with all the media swarming them like vultures picking at what's left of their lives. What new question are you going to ask these people? What new answer do you think you'll get? How will it be different than any other community that has dealt with this? Just leave 'em alone.
  13. Its because in our macho culture we still look at mental illness as a weakness and not a medical condition and then on the other end of the spectrum they treat that medical condition with loads of drugs that only mask the problem like pain killers. When I took opioids for my back for 18 months it allowed me to function, but it didn't make my back better. So many of these shooters, especially the younger ones, are completely numbed out on these drugs. There is a correlation between the sudden spike in the use of these drugs and the spike in shootings. I know before the pandemic that something like 93% of mass shooters under 40 were on these legal drugs.
  14. I am mad at myself today. Yesterday when the news first broke and it said 2 were dead I thought "oh, only 2", as if a single 3rd grader shot at school isn't totally horrific. All that's really left to wonder is what state it happens in next and how many. I am stunned this hasn't happed at a sporting event............especially so many open stadiums that look out into a sea of buildings (like Comerica), or the mass of people that gather at an entry point like the sea of people trying to get into 3 gates at Michigan Stadium. Someone pointed out to me the rooftop snipers on top of the press boxes at Michigan games, they do a great job of blending them into to look like stadium workers. It's really messed up to think about. Gotta have snipers for just watching a football game.
  15. They'll just say they were faked.........they were staged. You know, like the moon landing and the round earth.
  16. Well, if I had the funds I'd be leaving. Ireland, Spain, somewhere where there are no mass shootings. Hell, even Ireland and all it's Troubles is a lot safer now than this place.
  17. Not enough gun restrictions NRA hero-with-a-gun culture bullying (around the clock now) hip hop culture (sorry, but even if you like the music you have to admit that it glorifies violence and normalizes it, just like rock & roll normalized drugs) extreme Republicanism violent videogames lack of mental health support (in every state) the internet over prescribing of powerful mind-altering, but legal drugs corporate greed They all play a part...........and the common thing except for the bullying and lack of mental health, they are all big money-makers, aren't they)
  18. Not the "far left" asshole. Most GUN OWNERS support more restrictions.
  19. 3 children were killed from lawn jarts.................they were banned.
  20. And two mass shootings at Fort Hood in the last 20 years..............think anyone was trained there?
  21. Which well-regulated militia was this guy a part of. And Ted, you should just avoid all this and go to Cancun. You've had practice.
  22. He was part of the community, judging by the picture I've seen I think he was Hispanic too. Life not going how he wanted (at 18) so someone had to pay. Just fucking kill yourself then.
  23. What legal, corporate-approved drugs was this bastard on?
