Iowa looks putrid. 14 total points vs. Iowa State (down year) and ND State. Last week was the only time in my 57+ years that I saw a team score 7 without scoring a TD. Purdue is Purdue and their coach absolutely blew the Penn State game. if their coach hadn't brain-farted, they might be the favorite in the B1G West. Northwestern is bad this year, can thank Scott Frost for their one win. Illinois is absolutely better and I really am interested to see them take on a team from their own division, they could be the sleeper to get destroyed in Indy. Nebraska............well to quote Little Bill Daggett in Unforgiven, "Hell, even I though I was dead, til I found out I was just in Nebraska" Minnesota........it's seemingly theirs for the taking but they always find a way to blow it and to quote the great 21st Century philosopher Casimir "Can't wait to see how" Wisconsin. - An embarrassing loss to Washington State at home, but you know what? That loss really doesn't matter. Wisconsin really had zero expectation of going to the playoff this year and this will not hurt them in the B1G West standings. I think they will be the 3-loss team from the West to go to Indy and get destroyed. Did the Lions draft this guy? -
I expect the Lions to start this game hot today. I think the offense will be sharp and I do expect them to move the ball. Goff will use all his receivers and I wouldn't be surprise if as many as 8 players have receptions in the game, but I also think that while the defense absolutely looks better and will feed off the energy of the crowd, they will tire out with the lack of depth. I think Philly wins 31-23 Goff will look sharp - like the 2nd half of last seasons Hutch will get one sack today, but won't be overly affective (he's a rookie) The linebackers will get burned by Tight Ends and Running Back catching passes out of the backfield all day (it should be the focus of the next offseason) I am very interested to see how Jeff Okudah looks. He was over-drafted, no doubt, and had a morbid rookie season, but I am thinking that had more to do with Patricia than Okudah. He has a lot to prove and I am sure Philly will test him plenty today. Don't give up on him. If he'd been drafted where he should (10-15) we'd feel more optimistic about him.

Yesterday really was Upset Saturday. BYU knocked off Baylor, but since it was in Utah, is it really an upset?

Every time they showed Scott Frost I thought of Todd from Breaking Bad. Another reason to dislike him.

They are driving down 38-35......but if they score there will be about 3 1/2 to 4 minutes left and we all know what happens to Nebraska at the end of close games under Frosty.

It just feel like they're setting Cade up to fail.........it sucks, I hope he does leave and gets a chance to be the starter somewhere he's appreciated.

I had to turn the sound off............these TV announcers are absolutely horrible. She is WAY too forced and it's phony and grating, like a dentist drill hitting a weak spot. And Jake Butt sounds like he's got cliche cue cards. Devin Gardner was much better doing the Lions preseason, he should be on this network.

JJ McCarthy looks great tonight. Named starter for U-Conn, Cade enters the transfer portal and goes to Penn State, the next week JJ looks terrible against Maryland, team barely wins, then they play Iowa and McCarthy gets knocked out for the season..........then it's the Alex Orji/Alan Bowman tour.

Iowa State knocked off Iowa? Wow. Nuts today. You know what, a lot of really good players that were getting stacked on the depth chart are leaving so they can play and it's already starting to even some things out. Probably why you'll need a 12-team playoffs. Every team's gonna lose a couple of games.
