LOCKOUT '22: When will we see baseball again?
Motor City Sonics replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Tigers
Has anyone published a list that shows what each owner paid for their current team and what they would get for it now? That would be very interesting to see. I find is hilarious that owners are complaining about finances when of them signed a guy for $43 million a year. Piss off...............- 1,851 replies

Bobrob's 2022 Preseason Predictions
Motor City Sonics replied to bobrob2004's topic in Detroit Tigers
Now apply it to 120 game season................. -
I'm not saying it happens quickly, but I don't get the sense that the Russian people or even the military is very happy about this. Russia's a big place and Putin probably has 20 bunkers to hide in. It all depends on if somehow the military turns on him. Nicolae was certain his military wouldn't turn on him.

I have this hope, that I know is not realistic, that Putin ends up like Ceasescu.

LOCKOUT '22: When will we see baseball again?
Motor City Sonics replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Tigers
Look, what I said was obviously a joke and would have gotten me thrown off of Facebook. But I think the cities need to find a way to punish these owners for missing games. The cities that own the stadiums. This is 100% on the owners. They obviously have no desire for baseball in April. Stop screwing the fans. Arguing over millions and billions. A million seconds is about 11 days. A billion seconds is about 31 years. The stuff they are bitching about won't even touch them. It would be like the equivalent of accidentally sucking up a couple of dimes in the vacuum at your local Car Wash. At some point you're going to wish you had that 20 cents at a vending machine, but it's not going really to alter your life. Fire Rob Manfred and then after that Fire Brad Ausmus and Matt Patricia too.- 1,851 replies

I am just imagining this - from the future. Shots of an empty desert in black and white and ambient outdoor noise then more empty desert and footsteps still more empty desert and a dark music tone Voice Over as more shots of familiar places, still in black and white: "Caucasian Female, 30s or 40s, blonde hair, no ID, hands bound behind back with an extension cord, two bullet wounds in the back of the head........no attempts to dispose.........., looks like a message to me." Voice Over 2 "A message for who?" Music tone comes to a sudden stop quick edit to a hand with dried blood on the ground as the shot turns to color Caption reads "Better Call Saul: Series Finale: Monday at 9"

2/26 7:30PM - Leafs at Red Wings
Motor City Sonics replied to 1984Echoes's topic in Detroit Red Wings
Well that was nuts. -
$10 million in it's first weekend. $140 million budget. HALLE BERRY BOMBS AGAIN. I like space movies too, but ones that try for some sort of realism. I thought Gravity tried to show it (not going to nitpick the fact that Sandy's hair doesn't float like Dr. Tyson did). I thought The Martian was really well done. Mission to Mars was stupid. Gattica was sort of a space movie in a way and that's a possible future (with the whole genetics thing). Interstellar tried to show something that could be real in a far fetched way, but I liked the effort. Contact was thoughtful and more about human nature than about space, but I love that movie. This one just looks stupid as hell.
