LOCKOUT '22: When will we see baseball again?
Motor City Sonics replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Tigers
Intentional. You can tell by his lack of surprise after the collision. I wouldn't drill the next guy, but I would have a word with my pitchers about every time that batter comes to the plate.- 1,851 replies

We aren't seeing MLB until June, if at all. Baseball is not in a position to fuck with secondary fans because their loyal fan base is dwindling fast. Stupid, stupid, stupid.- 1,851 replies

LOCKOUT '22: When will we see baseball again?

Sorry, the next game was in Atlanta and it looks like A.J. Minter is the last pitcher to bat in the bottom of the 4th, he bunted a pop up behind home plate that was caught...............how pitchery. Zach Greinke actually didn't pitch that game but he did pinch hit in that game - and got a single !- 1,851 replies

World series had pitchers bat in Atlanta. So game 5 Kyle Wright batted in the bottom of the 3rd. And that was that.- 1,851 replies

So he becomes the answer to a trivia question. On the other end of that, who was the last pitcher to bat? (I understand that there may be pitchers that pinch bat in the future, but who was the last pitcher to bat as the pitcher?)- 1,851 replies

In 1978 the Red Sox had Butch Hobson at 3B. He made 43 errors and had an .899 FPCT. They lost the division in a Game 163 vs. the Yankees. If they had even an average defensive 3B that year, they probably don't have to play a game 163.- 1,851 replies

The ones that did show up were probably paid Hollywood extras. LA has more homeless people than people who showed up for that parade. Not trying to be funny, but it's true.

When a dog dies some people ask "How can you put yourself through that again?" Through what, 14 years of absolute friendship, laughs, companionship, comfort, complete joy and a week of mourning? Sign me up. I can't wait to do it again

Oh, and Bruce Willis is in it, but just as an extra sitting about 3 rows behind Newman in the final summation speech.

There is a movie from in 1982 that I love called The Verdict. As many great roles as Paul Newman had, I think this was his masterpiece, even great than Cool Hand Luke, The Sting or Butch Cassidy. It's a slow moving film about a medical malpractice lawsuit and Newman plays a once-great lawyer who is a beaten alcoholic, and the only lawyer desperate enough to take an unwinnable case. One of my favorite endings to any movie......not when the verdict is read, but the final scene, the final shot. I had no idea until maybe 3 years ago that David Mamet wrote the screenplay.

When Travolta first read the treatment for Vincent Vega - he didn't like it. He didn't want to play a heroin addict and he was a little turned off by the violence but people told him to meet QT, that there was a great buzz about him. So Travolta went to QT's apartment to meet - and it was the exact same apartment Travolta lived in when he got started in showbiz and that's when he knew it was meant to be.

I think it might have had a little to do with his politics and I do think some people believed that he, very quietly, pushed for the Ernie firing. I don't know if he did that, but he was smart enough to pass on replacing him right away. Didn't matter what Rathbun & Rizz did (was that their names?), people were going to hate them for replacing Ernie. All I can say is that the few times I did actually talk with him, he was very nice and I was a lowly intern.

Why are they picking on Hillary again? Leave her and Pete Davidson alone so they can continue dating.
