  1. The Tigers and Carlos Correa are close to finalizing an agreement, but it might be held up by Michigan State President Samuel Stanley.
  2. The announcement will come tomorrow. The press conference will be 11am Monday with Correa, E-Rod and Zack Greinke (I'm going big here)
  3. Boy, the Me Too movement would be destroying Squints for his pool stunt now.
  4. Sometimes its all about the timing.
  5. Will they do a deferred contract like the Nationals did with Scherzer?
  6. it won't mean a thing. he'll be a hero to those nutjobs.
  7. Breaking into the Capitol. Once he went in there, it was a violent act. Just like someone looting a CVS, even if they didn't break the windows themselves. He had no business being in there and every single one of them who went into that building that day committed a violent act.
  8. Yes, most violent criminals are mentally ill or mentally damaged by neglect. And what he did on January 6th was violent.
  9. The asshole who murdered our friend at Virginia Tech was mentally ill too. If he hadn't ended his own life, he'd deserve to be in prison now too.
  10. Yeah it matters, maybe why he didn't get 10 years. He DID commit a violent crime. Anyone that broke into the Capitol that day committed a violent crime. Tired of excuses for these criminals. He travelled there of his own free will and took part, mentally challenged or not, that's on him. I have little to no sympathy for those who attempted to overthrow our democracy and who would have killed our representatives if they had gotten to them. Every single one of those sons a bitches are mentally ill. Let Trump take 'em in. He could turn Mar-A-Lago in to a f**king hospital.
  11. Does this mean he'll get out before January 2025? I don't like that. Not one bit. None of those fuckers should get out before January 21, 2025
  12. I watched a video about Mike Magnante, who was just a few days from vesting his pension. The A's were not allowed to put him on an injury list if he wasn't really injured. He got screwed. There should have been something in place that considered how close he was. He still gets a pension, but not nearly the pension he'd have gotten if he had only stayed on the roster for another few days. That needs to be fixed. If companies can give people pensions early, mlb and mlbpa can do this.
  13. I am sure there would be nuance added in. I think it will end up where there is no benefit to holding someone back over service time. I get why teams do it, but it might be keeping good players away from a game that needs more good players.
  14. I think the service time rule will no longer exist after this coming work stoppage. Free Agency will be based on Age. They'll probably quarrel for 2 months alone on whether the age is 28 or 28.5 years at the date the new Free Agency cycle begins. So it won't have any influence on Greene and Tork.
  15. Sorry, I should have said that I am expecting an 80-game season.
  16. The Correa contract might be held up while the team finalizes an extension for AJ Hinch. I would imagine if they do get Correa, his relationship with Hinch would be a major reason why, and they'd want to avoid Hinch having that out clause after 2022 and committing 4 or 5 years to him. That could be part of a hold up too, if at deal is indeed already done.
  17. According to Michael Balko on Twitter, one MLB insider says Correa to the Tigers is a 'Done Deal". I'm guessing..... 22 years, 1.6 Billion dollars
  18. When does OBJ starting bitching? Thursday? Friday?
  19. Mickey Lolich in 1971 - 376 innings, 45 starts, 29 complete games and he was a strikeout guy too. That's insane. Followed that year up with 327, 308, 308. Even at 35, after those 300+ years, he pitched 192 innings and had an ERA of 3.22 Then in 1976 Mark Fidrych had 24 complete games, 3 of them going 11 innings and they broke him.
  20. Wild Stab here..... Florida - Mark Stoops (Kentucky Head Coach) LSU - Joe Brady (Panters OC) Miami - Joe Moorhead (Oregon OC) Oklahoma - Matt Rhule (Panthers Head Coach) USC - Urban Meyer (Jaguars Head Caoch) Ohio State - Luke Fickell (Cincinnati Head Coach) Washington - Jay Norvell (Nevada Head Coach) Cincinnati - Mike Tressel (current DC) NFL openings Las Vegas - Lincoln Riley (Oklahoma Head Whiner) Jacksonville - Byron Leftwich (Bucs OC) Broncos - Eric Bieniemy (Cheifs OC) Bears - Ryan Day (Ohio State Head Coach) Vikings - Brian Daboll (Bills OC) Panthers - Joe Woods (Browns DC)
  21. Tuck is about to become the one of the top four highest-paid coach in NCAA - by Michigan State. (An 8 year deal worth 56 to 68 million) He's not going anywhere. Not right now.
  22. Sounds like Juan Nieves probably was the deicing factor.
  23. Interesting to see how the Yzerman picks have developed and how the Holland picks haven't, or not nearly at the same rate. Veleno has had some nice flashes, though.
  24. But Gracia, Brieske, Olsen and Wentz are guys you could call up on during the season when you need them, maybe not guys you expect to be in the rotation. I mean, to me, they have to sign another veteran arm, the one year "prove your worth" type of deal. If we think we are going to avoid some sort of long term injury with all 3 of the young guns, we're being a bit naive. TJ surgeries are starting to become more of the norm these days. I wonder if anyone is doing a comprehensive study to find out why there are more pitching injuries with pitchers throwing fewer innings than in the past. A lot of speculation why, but has there been any study? Dr. James Andrews has become more well-known than most of the players in the league
