I just re-read In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson. A non-fiction book about the American ambassador and his family living in Germany during the rise of Hitler. Just a little reminder of how insane this all is. I just had to renew my business license. On the form, there is a part that says "Have you or any of the owners ever been convicted of a felony?" The answer was no, but I felt like writing "The current president is a 34 time convicted felon. Why does this question appear on any form anymore?" I mean, you can be president but can't run a small business if you are a felon? Absurdity.
