I like how the Vikings go with their only non mobile QB against the Lions, a team with a history of struggling against mobile QBs, and start their mobile QBs against everyone else.

The NFC has some good receivers. The one I probably quibble with the most is Mike Evans. Goff is better than Stafford in every statistical category. I'm old enough to remember when Stafford couldn't make the Pro Bowl after throwing for 5,000 yards and 41 TDs. I wonder if McNeil hadn't gotten injured if he would have at least made an alternate?

The Cowboys are the most valuable franchise in the NFL. The Lions are among the least although likely to go up. It isn't hard to figure out.

First, Goff wouldn't be able to audible out of it. With Skipper announced as eligible, any play they run out of the formation would be illegal formation. I suppose Goff could have re-arranged the line so the formation is correct, basically have Skipper and Decker trade places, but then the whole play is jacked up and you have players out of position. Second, if the Lions jump up and down and say it's Decker and not Skipper, that blows the discreteness of the play and tips off Dallas on what the play is. The Lions also did not have a timeout. I've also heard once it is announced it cannot be changed. Even so, the ref going and making a correction that it is Decker just draws more attention to the play.

Maybe Buggs asked to be released? He phrases this like it was his decision.
