In my experience in researching EVs to buy, he was very much intertwined with the customer experience and people bought Teslas because of him. It was all about his vision to save the world and he is the single greatest thing to happen to humanity. I am not being hyperbolic. You go into the Tesla circles and this is what people were saying. They ignored all the build quality issues. They ignored the fact they paid $10,000 for a product in 2016 that still hasn't been delivered. It was all their faith in Elon Musk. I had never seen anything like it. I literally felt like if I were to buy a Tesla I would be buying into a cult. It's why Tesla has no PR or advertising. His cult does it for him. I think his purchase of Twitter was the pulling of the curtain on The Wizard of Oz and he is being exposed as not being so brilliant and also a right wing extremist.

Not going to lie, a little part of me was hoping it would have been Anzalone instead of Williams.

It is troubling it was multiple players and potentially staff. I get the feeling it may have been part of broader ring within the position group. Williams may have gambled on NFL games but they just didn't catch him.

I just hope John Fox wasn't involved.

Marvin Jones signing made sense regardless of Williams availability. CJ Moore was signed March 18th and Jones April 5th. That is a small window for him to find out. Holmes could have found out internally that Williams was gambling and a suspension would be likely. I assume at the very least he knew an investigation was ongoing.

I was wondering how he got caught. Gambling isn't allowed where I work and out IT team has a firewall that blocks it.

I never thought of a recently fired coach could become a snitch. It is weird though three of the four players suspended were receivers and they were either on injured reserve or practice squad.

Williams could have easily went down in training camp with an injury that took him out 6 weeks. Just have to adjust. I don't think this changes their draft plans.

The Lions signed CJ Moore on March 18th. Obviously they wouldn't have signed him if they knew he was going to be suspended so they likely found out recently.

Apparently there were Lions staff member gambling as well.

Maybe we do need a good backup QB in case Goff decides to gamble.

We know for sure Goodell is going to get booed when the draft is in Detroit.

According to Ian Rapoport, Williams suspended for gambling on college games but from a Lions facility which could be the training facility, team bus, team hotel etc.

Can Williams participate in training camp?

I believe with Williams it was because he was at the facility. As I understand it, betting on NFL games is banned so that's why Cephus and Moore got idefinite. Williams got 6 games because he was betting on non NFL games which is allowed but not on NFL or team property.

After what happened to Calvin Ridley, why would you get caught up in this?

When I first read it, I thought Williams was out indefinitely but it's 6 games. They can weather it.

It's concerning just about everyone on the list are Lions.
