I don't have a problem with it. Payton quit on the Saints when things were looking tough to pursue another job. What he should do if we wants out of the contract is to call their bluff and see he is returning to coach the Saints. Either they fire Allen or they let Payton out of the contract.

My Twitter feed for some reason is getting overwhelmed with Bears fans and they think Justin Fields is the greatest thing ever. They're showing highlights saying Rodgers couldn't do X and Fields is already the best QB in the division. It's insanity.

Weird how after Furgeson we were told that the racial makeup of the police needed to reflect the racial makeup of the city, something about community policing. Now that everyone involved is black it's still white racism. More white people are killed by police so yeah it does happen.

What I like is the Packers were in a home playoff game this year against a team they were 27-3 against in the past 30 years at home and were something like 15-1 in December at home and Rodgers got outplayed by Goff in the 4th quarter. Now Rodgers is set to make $60 million and feels he can make demands.

Tampa has got to be the worst job for an OC. QB is in flux and Bowles is likely gone after the season. He's probably better off staying in Jacksonville and working with Lawrence another year.

I see a lot of people treating it that way but for almost half the season they had a historically bad defense. They should see it as a blessing the Rams blew this year and gave them a good opportunity to improve the defense.

Thankfully the Lions didn't give up on Stafford and draft a backup QB in the 1st round and he continued to develop into a franchise QB who netted the team a solid foundation to build on.

Stafford's completion percentage was only 0.2% better and he threw more interceptions and fewer TDs and had comparable career numbers up until that point including a significantly worse completion percentage and had multiple separated shoulders. I'm also surprised that article wasn't written by Birkett. BTW, Stafford hadn't signed his massive deal yet. It even says that in the article you linked.

Then sign a veteran backup. Absolutely weird to draft a 1st round QB as a back up to a 28 year old QB who has only missed 3 games due to injury during 6 years. What makes one even think that Richardson, or any other rookie, is going to just come off the bench and keep the team afloat? It's weird there wasn't this much discussion about drafting a backup QB in the 1st round when Stafford was 28.

Goff is 28. As long as he's performing he's going to be around longer than a rookie contract.

Stafford was up to 61% his junior season and Stafford has never been known as the most accurate passer in the NFL. He flirted with 60% early in his NFL career.

I'm still trying to find a good NFL QB that had a completion percentage as bad as Richardson in college. The hype seems to be all about physical tools and not if he can actually play the position. If you want someone who is a good runner, draft Robinson.

It's a new brand out of California. It performed well at first but only under certain conditions and certain drivers. Didn't perform well in cold conditions and lacks top end acceleration. In the right conditions it's pretty safe, prefers efficiency over high speed. Had low resale value and owners had to pay to get rid of it. It was replaced with a Mustang GT with a little wear.

I for one bought a Ford Mach E because their name is on the stadium of one of North America's historically bad franchises.

You never know when your paths are going to cross like it did with Goff and Stafford.
