  1. I don't know, I've spent time living in small towns and big cities and I would disagree there. They may be more polite to your face but they are not happier nor nicer.
  2. I don't think Schwartz was a bad coach. I'm still surprised he hasn't gotten a second chance. Once the draft picks weren't obvious choices like Stafford and Suh, they struggled. I still can't believe they didn't win a playoff game with a core of Stafford-Johnson-Suh. I would wager the team Mayhew inherited was better off than the one Holmes inherited. Mayhew inherited a HOF talent like Johnson and had the 1st overall pick with a clearcut franchise QB prospect available. Holmes took over a team with no high end talent aside from a good offensive line and lot of big, slow and overpaid players from the previous regime. All he had to work with was Stafford who could net him some premium assets.
  3. I read the Rams forum and Rams fans are complaining they haven't been able to find the late round gems they used to before the Stafford trade. They haven't connected the dots yet with Brad Holmes.
  4. I'm starting to come around on Carter. He's really what they need and would be an immediate starter and upgrade provided his work ethic is there. Shaun Rogers had similar work ethic concerns and at least for a while turned out all right. The Lions have nine picks and two first rounders so I'm inclined to just take the risk on Carter.
  5. Okudah seems like the type of player Holmes would have picked up a year or two ago. I think it's work the gamble for the Falcons. Okudah had a lot of things happen that were out of his control.
  6. Atlanta is the same team that got nothing out of Charles Harris or Cominsky so I'm not worried about Okudah turning it around with them.
  7. If the Lions do get 5 primetime games and that does not include Thanksgiving, my picks would be Thursday night to open the season at Kansas City, Monday Night against the Chargers and either the Vikings or Packers at home, and Sunday Night games against New Orleans and Seattle. Thanksgiving will be either Packers or Vikings, whichever one didn't make it on Monday. I'm leaning Vikings for Monday Night and Packers for Thanksgiving.
  8. Wilson had 7 sacks each of the past two seasons. JJ Watt had 4.5 and 7 sacks his final two seasons. Prior to his senior season Hutchinson didn't put up big sack numbers albeit he was limited in games due to injury and COVID.
  9. In the Ansah comp, Ansah had only 4.5 sacks his entire college career and didn't even start playing football until college. When healthy, Ansah was pretty good and had 14 sacks in his best season.
  10. I think it's funny Wilson's NFL.com player comp is Ansah. I would be pretty happy with that if it's the healthy and good Ansah.
  11. I keep picturing that once the Lions agreed to the trade, Holmes called Okudah and said, "Hey Jeff, you ready to be a Falcon?"
  12. So the second Tennessee legislator was re-appointed to his seat unanimously. I have no idea what the Republicans accomplished.
  13. These republicans just keep digging in.
  14. Of course the letter is signed by the usual suspects.
  15. Never forget this is who Bernie Sanders hired to be his press secretary in 2020.
  16. There you go saying Goff is basically Tom Brady.
  17. Interesting looking at the NFL.com comps. Mahomes comp was Jay Cutler. Goff's comp was Matt Ryan and I see the similarities. I was surprised in that Mahomes ran a slower 40 than I thought. Mahomes was a 4.8 and Goff was a 4.82.
