  1. The only one I was interested in bringing back was Walker. Seems like a fair contract for Walker. The rest are meh.
  2. Quandre Diggs signed for 3/40. Not sure if that is incentive laden, but if Diggs gets that much coming off a serious leg injury, Marcus Williams isn't going to be cheap.
  3. Damn, I didn't catch that. It seemed pretty quick for a deal.
  4. Don't have to worry about Robinson.
  5. I guess I don't understand this logic. I don't see the harm in building a good offense around Goff. I still contend Goff is Alex Smith like and you can still win with him. You can then move on from him at any time and insert a young QB into an already good offense. Plus, building up Goff would only make him more valuable in a trade much the same way Kansas City was able to trade Smith for a draft pick. Another option is once the Lions have the offensive pieces, they could do what the Rams or Broncos did and go for broke on a veteran QB. Robinson is intriguing as he may be willing to give a hometown discount and play on more of a prove it type deal.
  6. I really don't care for bringing back Anzalone and Boyle, but it's encouraging that all the Lions top restricted free agents re-signed and their unrestricted free agents re-signed so far. It seems to indicate the Lions are a team players want to play on and none of the contracts seemed like enormous contracts they couldn't have gotten elsewhere.
  7. The CEO of my company, when talking about Ukraine, said he wished our government would step up and lead a little more. This is the same company who donates almost exclusively to Republicans and the very same Republicans who let Trump off the hook for trying to deny military aid to Ukraine.
  8. They can also cut Vaitai with a post June 1st designation and save $7 million.
  9. Mack isn't the same player the Bears first traded for so I'm not surprised the return was less. Mack hasn't posted double digit sacks since 2018. His contract is only going to pay him more each year but the Chargers at least have an out. He's 31 years old. Seems like a fair deal for both sides.
  10. No surprise but the Lions are releasing Trey Flowers. Should clear up at least $10 million in cap space.
  11. I'll say Garoppolo.
  12. Everyone is saying worth up to or maximum which would seem to me there are incentives. He's being paid like a #3 and played like a solid #3. You pro-rate his numbers out for a full season and he was about a 50 catch, 700 yard, 5 TD WR. Don't forget Goff and St Brown played a lot better when Reynolds joined the team. The chemistry between Goff and Reynolds is worth the contract. They probably could have signed another receiver who had similar production for the same or better price but there seems to be something between Goff and Reynolds. I highly doubt a smallish contract like this takes them out of the running for a bigger WR.
  13. Carson Wentz was traded to Washington for a pair of 3rd round picks. You cannot tell me Jared Goff has zero trade value. If the Lions really like one of these QBs, they could draft him, sit him for a year, hope Goff has a good season, and turn Goff into a pick or two.
  14. It seems like Twitter was ablaze that Allen Robinson was signing with the Lions because of his Twitter bio. That is obviously bunk but I didn't realize Robinson was from Detroit and seems to rep Detroit a lot. It could give the Lions an advantage.
  15. That's kind of the point. Denver didn't make a serious offer for Stafford and watched him go to the Rams and win a Super Bowl. Now they are left paying through the nose for Wilson. I bet the Colts are feeling the same way after dealing a 1st for Wentz.
  16. Denver could have had Stafford for much less and Stafford has as many rings as Wilson.
