We probably do know what Baddoo is.  I only bring him up in the event the Tigers do think Torkelson needs a refresher at Toledo and roster fallout that ensues.  I doubt they send him to Toledo.  I expect he pulls out of this slump at some point.  But who knows where things will be at around Memorial Day.

Heck, the Astros optioned Jose Abreau.  Who predicted that to happen?

Not opposed to demoting Tork, but would rather see Malloy come up.

thanks; did not know that; 25% K rate is a huge improvement, but just 18 games so far. Workman offers so much: speed, defense, some power, versatility - just needs to get his Ks to a managable level

If I recall correctly, he started off well last year after working with Carpenter’s hitting coach during that offseason.  Fell back to his norm in 2023, so hopefully something clicks for him.  He’s not the type of hitter this administration would draft, so he probably has this season to emerge from organizational depth.

I was thinking in the 2021 Draft Grade thread.... If we aren't going to re-sign Alim because of cost (which I don't think is a foregone conclusion, but is possible), is there any chance Brad looks to move on him before the trade deadline? Particularly if Martin makes progress this year and Mingo looks like he's here to stay?

I'd hate to see Alim go, he's one of my favorite players on that defense, but I'd hate it even more if he went for nothing. And high quality DTs don't grow on trees, especially not at 24 years old. I expect he might command a high 2nd or a low 1st though, and if you're not going to re-sign him it's hard not to think long and hard about that return on investment.

If he can help us get to the Super Bowl next season, we’ll risk losing him (potentially offset by the guys you listed).  If this team is selling, even from a position of strength, something went wrong.

Kick returner (under the new-fangled system).

    Safety.

    RB.

    Special teams (gunner or similar?)

    Did I see WR too?

I think you're all looking at it wrong. Brad (mostly) don't care about position. The draft is about loading up on promising talent not matter where they play. FA is for filling holes. Draft picks, to him, are about trying to hit homeruns every time he gets to the plate. He's not going to lay down a bunt to move the runners over.

Brad is not going to settle for lesser player who might slot in somewhere better if he genuinely thinks the other guy is a better player.

Yes.  Won’t be shocked if we go and sign a WR in free agency.  Isn’t Tyler Boyd still unsigned?
