Canha is the free agent bat we were looking for...I really didnt think he'd be this solid, props to Harris on that signing.
Half correct. We traded for him.

A bit surprised we took out Meadows glove in a one-run game. Of course letting him hit with two outs and bases juiced is a difficult decision, too.

I identify as smoking hot. Sadly, it’s not an opinion shared broadly.

Tomorrow will already be 7 days since Kelly played. Might as well backdate him to the 10day.
They won’t let Rogers catch both games, right?

Mason Englert has a 2.63 ERA and 27 K’s in 13.2 IP. However, he also has a 1.32 WHIP, so work still to be done, but the K rate is impressive.

I was thinking in the 2021 Draft Grade thread.... If we aren't going to re-sign Alim because of cost (which I don't think is a foregone conclusion, but is possible), is there any chance Brad looks to move on him before the trade deadline? Particularly if Martin makes progress this year and Mingo looks like he's here to stay?
I'd hate to see Alim go, he's one of my favorite players on that defense, but I'd hate it even more if he went for nothing. And high quality DTs don't grow on trees, especially not at 24 years old. I expect he might command a high 2nd or a low 1st though, and if you're not going to re-sign him it's hard not to think long and hard about that return on investment.
If he can help us get to the Super Bowl next season, we’ll risk losing him (potentially offset by the guys you listed). If this team is selling, even from a position of strength, something went wrong.

That is very cool.

The fact that we were able to pay the Sun God as a 4th rounder, while getting 1st round output, makes this an A for me, along with all of the other contributors.

Missed from 58 and 62 while outside? Bum

we’re questioning Holmes? Do it at your own risk.

I think you're all looking at it wrong. Brad (mostly) don't care about position. The draft is about loading up on promising talent not matter where they play. FA is for filling holes. Draft picks, to him, are about trying to hit homeruns every time he gets to the plate. He's not going to lay down a bunt to move the runners over.
Brad is not going to settle for lesser player who might slot in somewhere better if he genuinely thinks the other guy is a better player.
Yes. Won’t be shocked if we go and sign a WR in free agency. Isn’t Tyler Boyd still unsigned?

Our division has doubled down on QB and WR, so feel much better to stack our pass defense. Similar to Branch last year, taking advantage of a player who has inexplicably dropped. Great value.

Wow. Great pick

I just want someone that Holmes gets so excited that he throws an overhead projector through the wall and then picks up Sheila over his shoulder and spins her around.
That’s all

Keep expecting the Lions to trade up and then realize we don’t have many picks to package.

I have no problem trading up with a third to get their man even if they "lost" the trade by the standard charts.
The thing we have to keep in mind is that we had a surplus of draft picks the previous couple years including 6 in the first 3 rounds last year, all of whom will be on the team so eventually you have to start consolidating picks. There isn't unlimited roster spots.
We're at the point where the roster spots we have available need to be used on high end talent not your standard mid to late round draft pick so if you have to "overpay" to get that high end talent so be it.
This. We’re just not used to this as Lions fans.

A run on kickers right now would be exceptional.
