  1. I don't remember if he's usually a guard - I just know they have not struggled like that in at least 3 years. Injuries don't help - Maybe we get a guy or two back?
  2. Suddenly I'm a little concerned about the Packers D, having held the Chargers to half the points the Lions did.
  3. I agree that it does hurt that they haven't been able to consistently get pressure, but in a year or two they're gonna have to pay Sewell, Amon Ra, Hutch, Gibbs, LaPorta, et al - I think perhaps it's just Brad looking at the future & saying he'd rather spend on the guys here now than a oft-injured, albeit terrific DL. I would imagine he just didn't think it worth the long term commitment.
  4. True, & their being healthy certainly helps - plus Sewell himself is a big difference from Goff's first season here, when he was deer in the headlights.
  5. I think the biggest story next Saturday will be the UM O-Line, specifically in pass coverage. I'm hoping this week, because Harbaugh can be there during practice, that Moore can work on some quick hit passes to get the ball out of JJ's hands more quickly - in some other way besides runs.
  6. I love how all you hear Lomas say is "Hutch" & then Dan Miller just goes nuts. "What. A. Game."
  7. Jared Goff's ascension is a case study in the difference good leadership can make. Under McVay, the Boy Wonder, he flailed around - looked like deer in the headlights - terrified to make a mistake, which makes you terrified to make a decision. Under Campbell, he has been allowed to grow - he has been COACHED - & given the keys to the offense. Trusted. & it shows.
  8. I'd be more concerned if they played the really good QBs well & sucked against the bad ones. Perhaps it's because the other QBs are good?
  9. I was only able to listen to a bit in the 1st half - M was struggling on the defensive boards, but it sounds like they got that remedied in the 2nd half.
  10. It was more people looking for an explanation as to why they weren't hearing Branch's named called as often.
  11. I was as bummed as anybody after that TD, but as bad as this D looked at times - they stopped 7 out of 8 plays from the 2. That tells me the big problem is the defensive backfield. Okay at times - but not enough consistency. If we can get CJGJ back by the end of the season, it should help us heading into the playoffs.
  12. Independent, like Notre Dame? They could easily get their own TV deal.
  13. I'm interested in how Montgomery & Gibbs share time this week - & what impact, if any, DPJ will have on Jamo's snaps.
  14. They should have had Sewell shadow Maxx Crosby & set up opposite him - That dude was all over the place.
  15. There are times he can try to be a little too cute - & I do think he would do well to stick to the plays & not get too far down the line talking about other stuff - but I just hear people trash him all the time. I think he has a decent delivery, & he sets up Aikman well. I remember when ESPN put Doris Burke on a broadcast, who I think can be very good, but she was in with Rex Ryan & another rookie analyst, & it was blatantly unfair.
  16. I'm hoping we swap OC's with Bye this week, just to please TP.
  17. I don't get the Joe Buck hate. There are far worse. & this board may be in need of a suicide watch during Lions games - Geesh!
  18. That's interesting. I think it was the switch to zone that helped us against KC in the first game - but that doesn't mean it will work all the time. Wonder if AG is trying to cover for some injuries & not put his DBs on an island?
  19. Bosses who let politics determine their leadership decisions. We have a small staff - 6 people in 1 building - When Covid hit in 2020, we all stayed healthy, but in 2021 our boss got it really bad. Refused to go to the doctor - missed 5 weeks of work - & has been a shell of himself since. 6 months later, our program director contracted it, refused to get tested, & kept working - Within a week the rest of the staff were all Covid positive - At which point the 2 of them decided "Well, since we've all got it - we might as well all work." Now here we are almost 2 full years later - the PD has it again - and still comes to work every day - and the boss refuses to tell him to stay home or allow the rest of us to work from home. Needless to say I am now entertaining other job possibilities.
  20. I'm not buying it. If the NCAA had all this against them, dating back this long, then why now? Because Michigan is good again. The talking points from the NCAA are already being eviscerated in the nat'l media & it won't withstand public or courtroom scrutiny.
