  1. Elmer has some hands
  2. Kronner seems to be putting in a ton of work for the Wings in Sweden, you love to see it
  3. I was excited to see NHL players at the Olympics again but it feels like it may not happen with how things are trending.
  4. Surgery near the end of September, about 4 month estimated recovery. So ideally looking like end of January? The word has been quiet, I know one of the announcers mentioned seeing him high fiving in the room after a game and he said he was hoping to return quicker than 4 months. But I would say no news is probably bad news and he's still rehabbing. I'm intrigued to see how he fits to the lineup, adding a dangerous shot is always nice.
  5. https://www.detroitlions.com/news/four-downs-offense-struggles-in-loss-to-eagles-goff-swift-campbell "I freaking hate what I did before halftime," Campbell said after the game. "I hate it. I don't hate going for it, but I should have used a timeout going into the 3rd and 1. That didn't help, either. Look, I got outcoached, man. I got outcoached. I didn't help these guys."
  6. I’m worried that Campbell is the Lions’ Steve Wilks but he’s too nice of a guy to cut bait with when you need to. I don’t think you need to fire him this week but you need to seriously evaluate him as the coach moving forward if he can’t show any improvement through the end of this season. The coaching errors seem to be on another level from the usual Lions incompetence which says a lot. I hope he does improve and he’s the coach for the Lions long term, but man that was embarrassing. Not that Lynn was knocking it out of the park, but Campbell definitely needs to give up play calling duties. Maybe it’ll help him focus on clock management and getting the right personnel onto the field.
  7. This coaching staff sucks ***
  8. That was a fun one! A little stressful at the end but it is good to see the Joe Dough Joe pretty packed!
  9. I have a bad feeling about this...
  10. Another Suter post come on!
  11. I decided to take a look to see if Hronek was getting sheltered at all, and somehow Hronek and DeKeyser have the highest percentage of their shifts started in the defensive zone this season for the d-men, uh oh!
  12. There's a good and productive player somewhere inside Rasmussen I swear it. Between him and Zadina's "bad luck" it hurts to watch them flub possessions.
  13. Suter flashes at times but he hasn't been as good as I hoped he would be.
  14. LUCAS RAYMOND!!!
  15. He's been pretty mediocre to bad the last couple of seasons it has felt like sadly. I used to think he was just overwhelmed with the minutes they were asking him to play but he makes some bonehead plays.
  16. Well the Blues strike first on their power play, hope the Wings fight back here.
  17. https://themalikreport.com/2021/10/22/roughly-translated-20-questions-with-elmer-soderblom-via-icehockeygifs/ Some q and a with Elmer, he says he's bench pressing 300 pounds this season 😳
  18. Undrafted guy, been in the AHL for about four years. I imagine he's going to be the Wings' Lashoff type guy the next season or so where he gets the call when they need a roster filler defenseman who can sit in the press box if need be. Mildly surprised Witter wasn't called up though I guess Smith is there for toughness if need be?
  19. Really been enjoying the Wings talk here lately 🙂
  20. To me Soderblom actually has good hands. Rasmussen "had good hands" around the net on the power play in his draft year because he was just being lanky against guys who couldn't stop him. Soderblom makes puck plays with confidence that I don't think I've seen Rasmussen even attempt. Part of it in my opinion is that Soderblom has improved his edgework a lot which lets him try these things at his size. Rasmussen still looks quite stiff despite his overall skating improvements, at least to me. Whether Soderblom can do it against NHL players is another story, but I think they're different players outside of not necessarily being punishing hitters for being enormous. Soderblom was pulling off between the legs power play goals in the World Juniors before he ever really blossomed at the SHL level. I would faint if Ras ever did that. I think that right there just shows that Soderblom knows his body and how to manipulate it a lot better even at a young age. Creating space with your body, using your huge reach, and being able to quickly snap a shot through your legs is quite impressive. Rasmussen's ceiling to me appears to be a shutdown type third line center at best (which I would NOT complain about, he could be a very valuable player depending on how it all works out) and I don't see that in Soderblom's game at all. Hell it seems like Frolunda are sitting him a bit at the end of SHL games even if he scores well earlier in the game. I'm still not convinced that Soderblom will flourish in the NHL but I have a lot of excitement to see them try it. Hopefully he comes over to North America soon.
  21. HE HAS SO MANY TOOLS
  22. Gretzky had it.... lost it.... Yzerman picks it up. Great memories!
  23. Carter Mazur is having a strong freshman season Some Hanas highlights there
  24. Looks like Mo skated at practice today which is good. Could you imagine their defense without him eating up the minutes he does?
