Fortunate sequence for the Wings, Fischer puts a hard hit on Dillon as Dillon is turning towards the boards. Fish made contact with the shoulder mostly but Dillon went face first into the glass. Dillon was rightfully mad and started a fight, wings get the power play from it. Larkin scores on a nice shot pass from Kane, good to see Kane contribute. Edit: just realized they had Kane at the top on the power play....I like that they're trying new things but wow that's scary from a giving up a short handed goal standpoint

I forget that Joe Veleno exists for such long periods of time, why did we re-sign him again

It seems like the other teams' strategy with him is to just hit the **** out of him and he hasn't adjusted so far

Wings looked bad to start the first, Devils ended up scoring on a PP with Seider in the box. Fischer scored on a broken play then DeBrincat put in a nice shot. 2-1 into the first intermission with the Wings getting a fresh power play to start the second.

Go to 4:15 in this video, I think it is fairly obvious he's referencing Walman: Last season when they were on their big losing skid without Larkin and on the road in Florida he posted an Instagram from the beach saying he was on vacation and deleted it pretty quickly. It seems like he wasn't taking things seriously and it rubbed people the wrong way. I doubt Yzerman would ever come out and explicitly say that he was a problem but it feels kinda easy to read between the lines with everything.

I still like the Husso acquisition, the contract was very bad in hindsight though. It was worth a try when the Wings didn’t have a NHL level goaltending for the foreseeable future. It sucks he kept getting hurt and never found consistency. I guess the Fischer injury is pretty serious and they need some roster flexibility?

It says a lot that my first reaction here is that Veleno wishes he was a young Glendening and I don’t think much of Glendening lol. We may see Kasper (or someone else) soon enough since it seemed like Fischer left with a serious injury. All the fan punching bags are going down early, Chiarot better watch his back. I thought Johansson looked pretty solid. Made some nice exit passes and played transition defense pretty well. I thought Holl even looked decent. Motte seemed to have a tough game.

Hopefully we'll see them in the big leagues soon Cossa Shutout too, he was the first star I don't hate what I see here from Cleveland, seems like he can skate a bit at his size Allegedly Kiiskinen was a big favorite of the front office's during the draft, intriguing to say the least
