I didn't go to either, but 2006 felt huge to me. The whole post-season was so exciting. 11-13 were all good but they were kind of expected. I have a difficult time distinguishing one from the other.

So, Rodriguez is injured. It would be just the Tigers luck for it to be something serious and Eduardo opts in.

JD had some injuries which I thought would break him this year, but he keeps coming back strong.

However, the franchise did well when they had good teams, so I don't think it's true that MLB can not work in Montral. MLB seemed to be a lot more willing to let them move than other franchises. They allowed Tampa Bay to flounder forever.

I assume that is illegal, so I guess we should care even though political leaders don't seem to care about following laws much.

The intention could have been to trash it and then move to a new city. MLB doesn't like a lot of movement so one would have to prove that it wouldn't work. The thing is the franchise was working up until the mid 90s when they dumped all their stars and never really re-built again. It's not like Tampa Bay which has never done well with attendance even when they are good.

People have been telling me for years how brilliant Musk is. I never paid attention to him until he paid too much money for Twitter and tried to turn it into a far right forum. He seems to be not as bright as people say and also a huge dickbag.

Montreal was not the ideal city, but they got pretty good attendance for three decades espcially when they played well which is something the Florida teams have not been able to achieve. Everything when south when Loria took over the team and dumped all their star players and seemed to not care. He was also reponsible for their "weird local broadcast situation". My impression was that he was trying to destroy the team so he could get them out of there and MLB seemed happy to to go along with it.

Austin Jackson didn't peak for very long, but he kind of fits.

It seems like Nashville is the the most frequently mentioned location for an expansion team. I am still holding out hope for a team in Montreal, but that appears unlikely. I think MLB forced them out of there for whatever reason. I am not sure if anything has changed to make Montreal more palatable.

I tend not to remember details of individual games. Even in 1984 which was the best baseball fan time of my life, I don't remember many details of the games. I remember the Gibson home run off Gossage and the final out, but not a lot of other details. I vividly remember being really excited and not wanting to miss a single pitch. I remember how I felt seeing them going 35-5, but again I don't remember the details of games.

Both times they made the World Series, they played poorly in the series overall. It wasn't necessarily because of defense and bullpen. I don't know that having sub-par defense or bullpen makes a team more prone to losing in the World Series than having a weakness in another area. As others have pointed out, the bullpen played a big role in losing to the Red Sox in 2013, but they would not have gotten as far as they did that year without strong hitting and starting pitching. I long ago (maybe since 1987!) gave up trying to figure out why teams win or lose in post-season. It just seems to be a matter of getting hot at the right time.

Because they spent so much money on starting pitchers and hitters. I don't think they'll ever have that kind of payroll again.

He had only 118K in those 150 IP though. That is something to watch next year along with his health. Olson and Long have been impressive in a small sample. The Tigers have been getting a lot more more out of their young pitchers under Fetter. Now work on the hitters.
