  1. This is the best one I have seen yet.
  2. Marketing doesn't have to make sense. You just need one of every 100 people in your audience to be an idiot.
  3. There are more failure stories than success stories though because the MLB is hard. If you keep thinking every minor leaguer with an .800 OPS is going to have success in the majors you are going to experience a lot of disappointment.
  4. Mike Ivie was kind of a sad story. He was the first pick of the draft in 1970 and had a hard time dealing with the pressure. He had some good years, but then his career was derailed by mental health issues and that kind of thing was not well tolerated back in those days.
  5. He is already selling "never surrender" tee shirts with his mug shot on it. It's all about money. Also, he is back on twitter. I checked to make sure he is still blocked, since I heard they were unblocking people. He is still blocked.
  6. More than 5 or 6 for me. All the answers are immediately obvious when I look at them though. I'd study ahead of time, but probably 20 minutes would be enough.
  7. I got the Honus Wagner bobblehead in Pittsburgh too. August 12, 2014.
  8. Other than a few games of Meadows, none of them have on field production in the majors.. So, it's either statistical probabilities or hopes and dreams at this point. I certainly hope all four of them become good MLB starters, but I don't think that is likely.
  9. I think we can reasonably expect one of them to become a solid MLB regular next year. If two of them achieve that status, it would be a big success. Any more than that is very improbable.
  10. "Tutoring people in math classes" I like it.
  11. I wonder if the kids would do better on a civics test than adults. They probably just learned about that stuff in social studies classes. Sure, a lot of them forgot everything they learned already, but adults are even further away.
  12. Being a VP for an overweight old man who loves fast food could facilitate that.
  13. Isn't that kind of how Trump became President?
  14. MTG actually thinks she has a shot at being VP. Trump has no intellect but he is very intuitive about marketing and he knows she is a loser. She's got no chance.
  15. I wanted him back because I expected him to bounce back and be able to help the team at a position of need The possibility of flipping him at the deadline was secondary.
  16. Every time I see "Eddys Leonard", I think of "Eddie Leon". That's Cleveland/Chicago White Sox and a low rarity score.
  17. I like Candelario, but he is not worth 7 more wins! Edit: Based on WAR the Tigers are -1.3 at third base. Candelario is +3.6. So, 5 wins. You are not that far off!
  18. Nobody could have expected he would hit like has this year. He was the Tigers best player hitter in 2020-2021 though, so a bounceback seemed like a probable outcome.
  19. Thanks, I am hoping he makes it for a couple of reasons. 1. I'd like to see them have a high OBP guy in their line-up. It's been lacking for years. 2. I saw him interviewed and he sounds bright and personable. He reminded me of Granderson and he could be a fan favorite if he succeeeds as a hitter.
  20. What are his chances of making it as a primary DH? He'd probably need a .800 OPS to make it worthwhile.
  21. Got to have Maton batting 5th.
  22. Hawk Harrelson has GM experience.
  23. They are batting .239 with RISP and .231 with the bases empty, so the real problem is not hitting enough in general. They are starting to fix that though.
