  1. I think it comes from the Fielding Bible although it isn't listed online. I believe it is incorporated into the FanGraphs defensive numbers which would explain why he looks better on FanGraphs than statcast or b-ref.
  2. Anybody is tradeable. I just don't want to see Torkelson traded for prospects.
  3. Re-sign Rodriguez or the equivalent, sign another pitcher like they did last year with Lorenzen/Boyd, trade a middling prospect for an old right-handed hitter with a year or two left on his contract (unless they can find one in free agency). Bring up Keith and Malloy when they are ready. That would be an entertaining team.
  4. Yes, he is predictably profitting from MLBs partnership with gambling organizations and what better city is there for that than Chicago?
  5. I expect Harris to be a competent GM. I haven't seen anything which makes me think he's an elite GM worthy of undying faith. I don't see any warning signs either. It's still too early for me to have a strong opinion of him one way or the other. .
  6. I don't want them to trade from the top of the system.
  7. They are already close enough in the AL Central where they should be making moves that can help them win next year. They can't keep rebuilding forever.
  8. No, they need to be done with that ****. They can win next year.
  9. Bases Fulmer for Meadows.
  10. The Cubs broadcasters are talking about how you can hear Vazquez exhale after each pitch. That's all I can hear now. It sounds like someone skating.
  11. Wow, the Tigers finally have a line-up with multiple hitters who I look forward to seeing bat. How many years has it been?
  12. Just asking questions.
  13. I don't either love him or hate him. When he first signed, I wasn't really excited, but I felt he was a big upgrade over what they had. After seeing him, I still don't like him but I don't hate him as much as others do because of his defense.
  14. I assume Meadows will be playing regularly, at least platooning versus right handers. There is no sense bringing him up for a part time role.
  15. It's pretty hard to play defense with your eyes closed. You want him on your side if a brawl breaks out though.
  16. very insiteful first post. Welcome to the bored!
  17. I was generalizing. It doesn't necessarily apply specifically to Vierling.
  18. I don't know if that's the reason for his offense going down, but I do think multi-position guys can be prone to struggling defensively and perhaps even offensively from having having so much to think about. It's good to have a player like that on the team, but I don't know if like the trend of having multiple multi guys!
  19. The only problem with Malloy being a DH is that he limits the versatility on a team that relies on versatility. That was part of the problem with Cabrera being a DH. He was taking up a roster spot making it harder for Hinch to mix and match. Now, if Malloy hits like Edgar Martinez, then you deal with it! But, if he's just a decent hitter, he's going to need a position which he can play part of the time.
  20. He needs the OBP. 30 hrs would be nice, but a first baseman with a .330 OBP and below average defense isn't enough. It would be below average (unless we are talking 40+ homers)
  21. Julio Rodriguez last four games: 4 for 6 5 for 5 4 for 5 4 for 5 Most hits in four games in modern baseball history.
  22. That sounds right to me. middling=moderate or average in size, amount, or rank.
  23. No, His defense is still good at a premium position. There are far worse regulars than Baez. Jurickson Profar is one example.
  24. He'd probably be worth that if he got back to his '19 and '21 performance, but there probably isn't enough time left this season to find out.
