I ran into a guy before my hike a couple of years ago. For some reason, he assumed I was a MAGA. He started talking about how Trump is the only one who can fix the country. My friend who thinks Trump is nuts, but doesn't hate him as much as I do, half went along with the guy becaue he's a social person. The guy looked at me hoping for an agreeable response. I said nothing. By the way, his pickup truck was parked illegally.

It's not 8 days yet. We are still at 9.

Immigrants are typically healthier and have a longer lifespans than Americans. There is also no evidence that they commit crimes at a higher rate. However, there is a settling in period and logistically there may be too many of them coming here too fast. There is a big immigrant housing problem in some states.

My feeling is there is pretty much no way there can be a respectable romantic relationship between a 60-year old and a 20 something even if it's legal. What age is OK? There probably isn't an age. The 2 x age +7 formula is a humorous way to decide, although it it makes less sense when you get older.

I didn't even know there were still tariffs prior to this week and I don't paticularly care. Trump is still trash as he has been for 40+ years.

I still got the impression from this interview that Keith will be the primary second baseman. Hinch is always going to talk about positional versatility, but this quote here is about as certain as you'll hear from Hinch:

The fact that so many not only fall for his act, but look up to him as a hero is what bothers me the most about MAGA. I get why people dislike Democrats and distrust politics in general, but thinking that Dump is on their side or that he is going to fix anything is incredibly misguided. Wanting someone llke him on your side is even worse.

Fortunately, there are no MAGAs in my family. On the other hand, some of them probably won't vote at all because they think politics is stupid. They know he's an idiot and a pig, but they just don't think it matters to their lives. Those who do vote will vote against Trump.

Trump has no in depth knowledge on any issue at all. He is just a populist demagogue and is too much of a psychopath to let smart people works things out reasonably even when his bull **** happens to go in the right direction.

One can think that Trump was stupid for thinking that tariffs would bring back jobs to America and also think that tariffs are smart for other reasons. One could also think that there is a good time for tariffs and a bad time for tariffs. I agree with you though that most people don't have an informed opinion on these things.

Do your MAGA friends like Trump because they think he gives a **** about anyhing other than his own fame/fortune or because they think he'll burn it down by default?
