I watched the first couple of derbys out of curiousity. The concept was OK but I thought it was poorly exceuted. It lasted way too long for glorified batting practice.

I cant remember the last time I watched. I used to like watching the games when the leagues were more separate, but now I just don't care. I followed the boxscore throughout the night to see how the Tigers were doing.

The allstar game means nothing to me, but I see this as a trial to see how fans respond to it. I don't trust Manfred at all.

So, who won the game? I still see a tie when I look up the boxscore.

I didn't even watch the game. I just checked in here now. I care less about the allstar game than a spring training game. My concern is if they try doing this in regular season games. You might say it will never happen, but who ever thought extra inning base runners would happen?

Wait until they start doing it in regular season games.

I used to joke about how they were going to end games with homerun derby. Now, it's actually happening. What a joke.

It really doesn't show anything. .565 is not a little over .500. It's a 92 win pace over 162 games. That would have been better than any other team in the American League that year. And they didn't really build up a big lead until late in the season. The Blue Jays were within striking distance well into the summer.

You are right about McLain. When I looked it up after my original guess, I was looking at 1965! So, I was off by two.

That was before McLain had his huge years, so I would guess that they were all hitters: Cash Kaline Freehan Horton.... I was off by one.

I have never believed there was any kind of organized Epstein list. If there were such a list though, I think it's pretty obvious that Trump would be on it in some capacity, but it has always been his supporters who wanted it released. It's amazing how they see a completely different person than I do.

I think it's OK to deport people, especially violent criminals after, due process. I am against indiscriminate mass deportation. I am against ICE raids of farms, stores, hospitals, etc just so they can reach some quota and pump up the MAGA base. Of course, there needs to be immigration laws - laws which make it easier for productive immigrants to come here and stay here and laws to keep the bad ones out. However, I am very sure that the current immigration policy is totally fueled by racism and fear and that is totally counterproductive.

There you go again. Anybody that criticizes ICE in any way doesn't want immigration laws.

You don't seem to be MAGA based on the whole body of your posts, but whem you say stuff like, "you guys just want open borders" any time they criticize ICE, it makes you sound like one of those guys that has Fox News going in their home all hours of the day.

My theory: He wants to support the winning team. He assumed Russia was going to win so he selected them. He thought Putin was a tough guy, so he admired him. Now, he sees that they are weak, so he is switching teams. If Ukraine "wins" the war, he will take credit for it. It's the same theory I have about his being Republican. He knew he couldn't win as a Democrat. If he needed to be a Democrat to win an election, then he would have been a Democrat.

92 wins would definitely be a good season. In fact, no other team in the American League won 92 games that year.

I would like to see them get Lugo. I would have more faith in him as a #2 starter in the playoffs than anyone else they have. The need for a top reliever or two goes without saying.

It wasn't wrong to question her. She actually came to the immigration office herself to try to straighten things out and that's when she was detained, It was wrong to hold on to her for weeks when there was no evidence that she was a danger to society. I don't need to provide specifics. You are the one that needs to explain why she was held for weeks. The null hypothesis is not that ICE is always right. Innocent until proven guilty is the American way.

Some White people get detained too and that's supposed to make everything OK? Whites and non-whites do not get the same treatment by our legal syatem. Non-whites are targeted disproportionately. They always have been.
