I missed most of the game because I had to teach. The class started with the scored tied 1-1 after four. I missed a great game apparently. Skubal and Greene come through when it counts.

Even Kwan is not so good offensively. He doesn't strike out, but he had a .705 OPS. The Tigers had a far better offense most of the season. They need to get Greene, Torkelson and Carpenter back on track. The only area where the Indians are superior is the bullpen.

yes, they do. I did everything I could to keep my parents at home and away from rest homes. It was a big effort but well worth it to keep my parents human and reasonably happy into their 90s. My father had a group he would meet at McDonalds every day for years. He out lived all of them and got a little lonely at the end.

I get that too when I work at home. I now live alone, so I can go a whole day without seeing anyone. That can get to be isolating even for an introvert like me. I sometimes go to the store up the street to get a lemonade or something and see some people.

It seems like for most of my life Detroit and Cleveland have not been good at the same time. The central division team that has given me the most pain is Minnesota. The Red Sox are the number one pain for me.

There will be plenty of that from many people if they lose the wildcard series.

I see the season as a whole as pretty much what I expected. The end was was very frustrating and disappointing and nothing to celebrate, but they played way over their heads in the first half. If someone told me at the beginning of the season that they would win 87 games and get a wild card. I would have been satisfied.

They are currently at 14 pitchers. I don't think they need more than 12 in a playoff series. They can probably just drop two of Paddack/ Rainey/ Sewald.

They want to keep their backend guys fresh for the playoffs, so they needed innings from Paddack. The Red Sox are probably doing the same thing. It's being played almost like an exhibition game and each team is hoping to get lucky.

Yes, 2009 is another example. The Bucky Dent game is one of my favorite baseball memories and 2009 game 163 perhaps my worst.

Playing the Indians in the first round would be like 1978 when the RedSox blew a 14 game lead and then lost the Bucky Dent game in 1978.

I am not attached to Greene. He's a good player, but not a diiference maker. I would NOT trade him for a bunch of pretty good prospects. I would trade him for Chet Lemon, but there aren't a lot of trades like that anymore. Most deals now involve established major leaguers for prospects, so I don't see a trade for multiple average players.

Did they need to throw it all away in order to make imporvements this year?
