  1. I think you are confusing two different posters. Monkeytargets wants the f-bombs. Tigers202 says they are aren't trying and want to go home. I'd like to see the f-bombs just for entertaiment purposes.
  2. 18-year-old Lance Parrish signing his first contract with the Tigers (credit to @PaulMayne6 on X)
  3. Teams always look like they aren't trying when they aren't doing well. Why would they suddenly stop trying now? It makes no sense.
  4. That's ridiculous. You could say they are pressing, but nobody wants the season to be done.
  5. I'd rather have some quiet guys start hitting.
  6. They need Morton's veteran presence.
  7. On the bright side, knocking the Red Sox out of the playoffs would be as satisfying as winning a wildcard series.
  8. Because the Twins have always saved us historically!
  9. Shelton was the first one to say it the day they acquired Morton. Keider Montero could have done what Morton has done with the Tigers so far.
  10. Right, The Book by Tom Tango and others showed that winning streaks are not predictive of future performance. Getting hot in playoffs may be the key to winning the World Series, but how a team does in the last week or two of the regular season is not predictive of playoff success.
  11. Sewald might surprise. He was a solid late inning reliever from 2021- mid 2024. He had some rough stretches in the second half of 2024 and was injured this year. He's a risk, but he's got enough of a track record to think he could put together a good run through the end of the regular season and beyond if he's healthy.
  12. Harris and Hinch are both good at their jobs. There is no need to fire anyone.
  13. I think a 2.17 ERA over 11 starts would be good for the team culture!
  14. I agree. I had no problem with that trade. Alexander gave us some memories that we'll never forget. Smoltz would go on to have a great career, but I doubt he would have developed the same way with the Tigers as the Braves. He was a pitcher that required a lot of development and the Tigers were not good at that during that period while the Braves were the best.
  15. That's true, but if they don't win, they'll always be the team that blew a 15 game lead.
  16. Kate Smith coming in for the Indians.
  17. Kreidler gained 2 inches.
  18. You are all a bunch of loosers. Win the series!
  19. Freddie Lynn, Rico Carty, Yasiel Puig and Mitchell Page are some names. But Kurtz right now does have the best OPS+ of any rookie since 1901 with 400+ PA though. Jose Abreu, Aaron judge, Mike Trout and...Bernie Carbo follow. I believe Carbo was platooned though.
  20. I will always associate those two names with each other.
  21. Me too. In 8th grade English, we had an assignment where we had to write a parody of the 23rd Psalm honoring one of our favorite public figures. I chose Ron Leflore who nobody else in the class had heard of. They thought I was talking about Guy Lafleur. Anyway, my teacher liked it and encouraged me to send it to him. I really didn't want to, but my parents also thought it was a good idea. I still didn't want to, but I did anyway. He probably thought it was stupid and didn't respond. He was still my favorite though until Fidrych won me over. Best line of the parody: "My bases runneth over"
  22. Oh crap, I don't think they are even a playoff caliber team without Skubal.
