  1. I've got some of those. The only problem (and it may not be a problem for everyone) is I have to pay a commission if I want to do it in my IRA. So, I have to make sure I am really getting more than I would with the CDs.
  2. That has always been a peeve of mine too. Both numbers are important. It's important to know that inflation is up let's say 7% in the past year (because we know we are not going back to the same prices again). It's also important to know that inflation stayed the same month to month. It's two different stories. Each one matters.
  3. I was just questioning whether what you heard actually happened because there is a lot of BS out there (as you know) and there are multiple people telling the same cat box story and it seems far fetched to me that this would be happening all over the place. I don't doubt that some confused kids identify as animals, but I don't believe this behavior is being normalized by school administrations.
  4. Instead of a warning track, how about a moat with alligators in it?
  5. So, one every seven games and most of them fell for extra base hits anyway.
  6. Did the school put it there or did some kid put it there as a joke? I have met people who were non-binary and transgender and all those different types of identities. I work in a very liberal environment where we are encouraged to be sensitive to all these different identies. Half of my colleagues use pronouns (I don't because I think everyone can figure out that I'm a he). I have never met anyone who identified as a cat nor been told to be inclusive of cat identifiers. Maybe somewhere there is someone who thinks they are a cat, but I don't believe that it's a common thing we are supposed to embrace. It sounds like urban legend to me.
  7. Yeah, the top part was supposed to be the beginning of another post, but I scrapped it when I couldn't get the link to show up. So, now it shows up whenever I start a new post. I hate when that happens.
  8. How many players on the '29 championship roster were acquired on waivers, dropped a week later but stayed in the oganization?
  9. What people forget when Comerica takes a home run away from their favorite hitter: Next question: How many of those players are still in professional ball in 2029?
  10. Does someone want to project their 2029 line-up?
  11. How many days before he gets churned? For what it's worth, he has some really good K/IP ratios.
  12. Never trust anyone but your mother.
  13. I really don't like the yellow line thing.
  14. I would have just kept the Comerica dimensions the same. A smart GM can use somewhat unusual dimensions to his advantage in building a team and Harris has said something to that effect. The changes don't seem big enough to dramatically change results though, so it's probably not a big deal.
  15. I just want to know what Lynn Henning thinks about the new dimensions.
  16. Offensively, they are pretty much the same. Defensively, I don't really trust one over the other, but it's not true that B-Ref does not update their defensive stats. They take their defensive stats from the Fielding Bible which regularly updates their methods. Since I use stats more for evaluation of past performance than for prediction, I like B-Ref better for pitching. If one is going to attempt to project pitching, you are right that f-WAR is better. However, pitching is so unpredictable that it's hard to say how meaningful that exercise would be. Even the projection expets like Szymborski can't do it well. I have given up on B-Pro. They don't provide anything I need that I can't find on B-Ref and FanGraphs and the latter two are easier to use. Plus, B-Pro charges money to read articles about new advancements and I have reached my limit on subscriptions for which I am willing to pay.
  17. Another thing is he rated a little better at Baseball-reference on both base running and fielding. His r-WAR was 7.2 and 5.4. Throughout his career, he looks like a better player on B-Ref than FG mostly because they disagree on his fielding, often by a lot. So, which one do you believe?
  18. If he signed with the Tigers and continued to put up 5-6 WAR, I'd be OK if he didn't want to be there.
  19. If that happens to me, I won't be saying Ouch!
  20. OK, 99%!
  21. Six years is very reasonable for Correa. That goes to age 35. That's a lot better than being potentially stuck with him until 40.
  22. How much did Trump get for that message?
  23. With Trump, it's a 100% guarantee that he was selling or planning to sell the documents, because that's what his life has been about for over 40 years. He also disgraced himself and the country by trying to overturn an election and inspiring a riot. That disqualifies him from ever getting the benefit of the doubt again. You can both sides some things, but Trump is way beyond that now.
  24. Adduci recommended him to the Tigers. He needs him in Toledo.
  25. Not so dangerous now that almost everybody is on the "same side". Even those on the other side seem to do it reluctantly.
