Have to admit the sadistic side of my brain and my merciful side were duelling it out during the OT intermission.  Can’t say I’m sad about the outcome though, but man, how much crushing losses can one fan base take.

    At least a few more.

He's 5'10 and 185lbs. I don't remember seeing this kid watching Big Ten football. But that doesn't seem like a traditional big-bodied, X WR to me. Hopefully they see something good in this kid.

    No definitely not an X. If they've drafted a future X, it's Antoine Green (6'2 / 200).

He was a ball hawk at Illinois though. Led the B1G in receptions with 82, 15 more than the next closest receiver. Also had the 15th most receiving yards in the country, including 105 against Iowa's defense. A lone bright spot on a dreadful team and offense.

It’s interesting that people are always trying to mock smaller speed rushers like Chop Robinson to the lions as a complement to Hutch. That just isn’t their style, they want a big, strong presence at de to set the edge and control a gap first, and rush the qb second. They do incorporate a pure speed rusher, but it’s a part time position on passing downs, and they are not going to commit premium resources for that.

I think I would be fine if the edge across from Hutch did that, even if they weren't a natural pass-rusher like Hutch or Houston. The problem last year was that when Charles Harris or either Okwara were on the field, we might as well have had a mannequin across from Hutch. And then they double-team Hutch, and then the QB has all day long.

  4. If we weren’t in the running for Chark at 1/5 I don’t think we are in the conversation for Boyd.

I do think there is a chance they like what they have at the position. I think they expect a lot from Jamo in 2024. If that’s the case, you have four very reliable pass catching athletes in ASB, LaPorta, Gibbs, and Jamo. It’s not like we would have put Reynolds in that group last year, he was just a nice commodity to have… Any more than that is just delicious gravy on this offense. A luxury. Which I have no doubt they would have taken in the draft if the situation presented itself, but it didn’t. They’ve still got Kalif, DPJ, and (hopefully) Antoine Green behind that group, which is not a trio completely devoid of talent.

  5. Not gonna lie, the Golladay comment was a joke.

He probably sat out all of 2023 for a reason. Not sure he’s got it in him anymore. He’ll also turn 31 during the season. If Holmes sees something and signs him I’ll be surprised, but I won’t complain.

Where was this being offered? I'm wondering if it's an official UFL or did they just buy the tickets for the game themselves?

I was sent an email from the official Panthers email account server.

Officially speaking, I'm a season ticket holder, so that could be why I got the email. I've not attended a game in my season tickets (have sold each game for profit to help pay for Lions season tickets lol), but they probably don't care about that so long as the seats are being used and the people in them are buying beer and food.

Only 500 club points for the weekend, including a welcome dinner and of course the three hours they hold you hostage for the"presentation".

It's not a hostage situation...... you just have to say yes..... don't you want to say yes??

relevant for what reason?  theyre a clown show that got housed the minute they stepped up in competition.

it will be the same thing next year.  shedeur can probably win them some games with his ability, but not against good teams.  that team is nothing but mercenaries who dont care about winning, their only concern is themselves.  and that starts with the coach.  deion is the same way, a selfish narcissist.

and you have a qb who is obviously favored by the coach and who only cares about himself.  he'll throw the team under the bus when they dont play well, he'll sulk.  no one will want to give it all for a guy like that.

not to mention the lack of talent up front.  it takes a while to build a solid oline.  you cant just import pieces in the portal every year.

Relevant for the sake of relevance. They were an afterthought until he came around and I think they just like having people actually watch and care for a change.

I wouldn't be surprised if they tire of him though, especially if/when he continues losing and eventually leaves the program worse than he found it while deflecting blame. Hopefully the mainstream media will go away too when his schtick gets old and he isn't winning games.

deion sanders continues to be a bad, small, petty person.

why anyone would send their kid to colorado is beyond me.  theyre not even good at football.

I have a buddy who is a CU alum and I don't think a lot of them care how crazy he is. He's made them relevant again for the first time in 30 years.

I just said pro bowler.  I don't think whatever combo of guys they put on the line will be a non factor.  If your coverage is better there is a lot more you can do up front to put pressure on the QB.  I think the biggest factor will be what we do against mobile QBs.  Which always seems to kill us.  All of this is if the rookies and the guys they picked up in the off season are as good as predicted.  Good thing is we also have some depth there.  For me, this is the year Glenn needs to prove himself.  He has more talent now, so the excuses are gone.

I don't think it was Holme's strategy to have a deep secondary, its just the way the draft fell.  That's why I like him.  He went with talent and then when  you have good coaches you have to flexibility to with your strengths.  I would of been fine if Arnold was gone and Turner or Verse slipped more and went with them.

I hope it won't be a non-factor. But Charles Harris + the Okwaras sure were. Davenport + a healthy Houston should be better. Maybe not great, or even good. But better.

Any WR they may sign will be no better than the sixth offensive option, behind Montgomery, Gibbs, ASB, LaPorta, and Williams. They’ll be fighting with Kalif Raymond for three targets a game.

I’d guess Brad has given Chark’s agent suggested terms on a one year deal, but both parties are waiting for the market to settle after the draft and before training camp. But Chark developed a rapport with Goff and it would be surprising if there wasn’t mutual interest. I would love to see him back.

If you're Chark it'd probably be nice to win a game or two and be thrown to by Goff instead of Bryce Young too.
