  1. I think this might be right. He might be "active" without being active.
  2. Given Moseley’s lack of any meaningful preseason action, I would probably prefer Jacobs anyway, at least to give Moseley another 10 days to get his legs under him. Jacobs played well enough down the stretch last year. Certainly not shut down, but he held his own.
  3. Fun fact of the day: Dan Campbell is 15-4 ATS as an underdog of 4+ points.
  4. John Hussey’s officiating crew will have this game. He’s one of the better officials out there.
  5. For me it’s all about the trenches. How does the healthy, full strength, Lions offensive line look against a Chiefs defensive line that is young and with question marks inside? How do Hutch, Harris, and Houston look against two new tackles for the Chiefs? Can Alim maintain the improvement seen at the end of last year, and who starts next to him? Second I want to see the rookies in their debuts. How does Gibbs look in space? Campbell’s job gets a lot easier if Kelce is out or limited, but how difficult is the transition to the NFL going to be for him? The KC receivers don’t scare me, but Mahomes can drop a ball into the tiniest of holes. How will Branch match that?
  6. It’s Elon’s fault. When he went from Twitter to X a lot of software wasn’t prepared for it. It’ll take an update to this platform that probably isn’t even developed yet for them to embed. There’s a workaround that someone here mentioned but it’s a little complicated and multi-step.
  7. I’m like a kid on Christmas Eve. Except instead of going to bed tonight I’m going to get on a plane to the North Pole and get to see first hand whether I get a ton of presents or coal. And one of Santa’s top coal producing elves is holding out for a better contract and another injured their knee yesterday.
  8. In fairness, the cryptic tweets and childish removal of all things Lions by Buggs on his Twitter didn’t exactly scream “I’m the 49th best player on my team and I’m going to work hard to get better!”
  9. Yep. I doubt he plays but even if he does the swelling isn’t going to magically disappear overnight.
  10. Agreed. But I’m sure Buggs’ mind was elsewhere than workouts while on paternity leave, and understandably so. I doubt he was working out as extensively as those at voluntaries were, if at all.
  11. Ragnow DNP but it sounds planned and routine due to his toe.
  12. Captains are Goff, ASB, and Sewell on offense; Anzalone and Charles Harris on defense; and Reeves-Maybin on ST.
  13. It's a phenomenal read. I stopped after a few paragraphs to share here and just finished. Impossible not to root for the guy after reading, it's basically a medical miracle he's still playing football. It's incredibly well written too, you feel like he's your friend or family member going through it and it exudes pathos in just how hard the last two years have been for him.
  14. Credit to Justin Rogers for Sharing this on Twitter/X... Levi Onwuzurike opened up about his back injury, his life, and his struggles on and off the field... Really good read, would definitely recommend. I seriously tip my cap to him for even making this team, he's got that grit no doubt about it. Beyond Levi A little tidbit that made me face palm...
  15. I haven't heard anything either, other than that he's healthy (which is more encouraging than any fluff piece out there could have provided)
  16. I don't see #1 as petty discipline necessarily so much as it is means to the end of him falling down the depth chart that he is interpreting as punishment. Voluntarily workouts aren't meant to be hazing, they're meant to get your body into shape earlier. If three guys are all around the same talent level, and A and B went to voluntary workouts while C didn't, it would stand to reason that A and B would be further along in being prepared for the season come week one. I could see him being told he was going to be a healthy scratch simply because they saw a better chance to win with others at the position. If he was passed on the depth chart by guys like Levi and/or Benito Jones, who were at voluntary workouts, and Buggs asks why they are seen as better than him, he could be honestly told "they are working hard, they put in the extra minutes at voluntary workouts, and right here / right now, we think put us in a better position to win against Kansas City." ... To which Buggs would say, that's BS, I only wasn't there because my kid was being born.
  17. We aren’t trading him for Chris Jones YET you mean.
  18. I haven’t seen the full interview yet, but based on how 97.1 reported it this afternoon, it sounded like he took it as discipline for missing voluntary workouts, which he claims were missed due to the birth of his child. There are probably many factors here, not sure taking to social media with cryptic tweets like this is the way I would suggest he go about handling it though. Of the 53-man active roster, only 48 can dress for game day. Usually injuries compose the other five, but in week one he’ll just be one of the five healthy scratches.
  19. if we can stay even close to this healthy for any period of time we will be in great shape.

  21. Gambling in the locker room you say? I’ve got someone named Roger on line two requesting more information.
  22. I think the team did too, which is why it’s so curious. It was confirmed to not be injury related, which only leaves locker room problems (unlikely) or a trade on the table that they’re working out the details on and don’t want him hurt before they can finalize it. The obvious possibilities are Chris Jones (who the Chiefs wouldn’t want to trade to us until after the TNF game) or Mike Evans (who would probably want a contract negotiated before the trade finalized). Maybe Aaron Donald too, though not sure what the holdup would be. I don’t think there would be a drawn out Twitter play by Buggs if it wasn’t a big name that took a while. But I can’t imagine what else would cause this.
  23. Yup. Why schedule Florida State and even possibly lose, when you could schedule Little Sisters of the Poor and win 65-3? LSU will probably have to win out to make the playoff now, while Alabama and Georgia can stand to lose a game along the way. And Brian Kelly killed a kid.
  24. “You can see where this is headed” what? Large schools in Texas (TCU… Baylor… A&M… Tech… UT) perpetually overhyping and underachieving? Welcome to the 21st century with that one. (not directed at you Deleterious, just the thought that Baylor being incredibly overrated and losing to a Sun Belt school means more than that Baylor sucks this year just like they did last year)
