  1. MichiganCardinal baseball wisdom of the day: if you do not score, you will not win.
  2. Plate ump continuing to miss strikes on the corner was sure to burn Skubal eventually.
  3. Not only that, the K zone has said that on two different batters that inning Skubal threw 4+ strikes to get the K because he’s missing them the other way.
  4. I’m starting to think this Skubal kid might be pretty decent.
  5. If they had Baker Mayfield they would be a consistent playoff team, probably doing exactly what the Bucs are now as a really tough team to play.
  6. I’m not sure it’s relevant to Team A whether Team B is a playoff caliber team. If Team A wants to add an edge rusher, they should be calling teams who have guys like Hendrickson. So in that sense I don’t disagree that if Holmes wants to add an edge rusher (I’m not positive he does), he should call Cincinnati. The Bengals next four are against the Giants, Browns, Eagles, and Raiders though. I don’t think 4-0 and a return to .500 is unrealistic, but even 3-1 puts them right back into things. -edit to add- I see I was beat to the punch about their upcoming schedule, but the point remains.
  7. Very true. I thought y'all would enjoy this little tidbit I did sneak in there too 😂 Last Meeting: 12/30/2023, Decker Reported as Eligible
  8. Lions schedule has turned into something of a gauntlet in recent weeks, and I still don't like the bye week being so early, but it's nice to break it up a little. Going west to play the Cardinals, followed by a tough primetime game against the Seahawks, followed by a revenge game against an always good Cowboys team, followed by the first division matchup of the season on the road against the undefeated Vikings. I'll be happy if they go 1-1 in the next two, but ideally you're tied for the division lead and holding the tiebreaker at 5-1 in two weeks.

  10. We are 3-1 and the defense is allowing the 9th fewest points per game of any team in the NFL.
  11. But that's happening every week. Lions beat the Rams, Rams go onto lose 41-10 to the Cardinals; Lions lose to the Bucs, Bucs go onto lose 26-7 to the Broncos; Lions beat the Cardinals, Cardinals go onto lose 42-14 to the Commanders; Lions beat the Seahawks, Seahawks go onto lose 29-20 to the Giants. We are getting teams' best punch. They know we are one of the teams to beat in the NFC, and they're leaving it all on the field. I don't see any relation to Aaron Glenn.
  12. But the Bengals are better than 99% of 1-4 teams. And even if they're not, it's what their front office is thinking. It's not just Zac Taylor on the line, Duke Tobin's seat is hot too. And he's not going to get an extension by selling their best players.
  13. I think it’s wishful thinking to think an all-in Bengals team is selling two games out of the wildcard with 12 left to play.
  14. They’re only two games back. Lots of football left to play and they looked better than the Ravens at times today.
  15. My childhood QBs were Joey Harrington, Jeff Garcia, and Jon Kitna before Matt Stafford came along, so consider yourself lucky.
  16. I think the Vikings are the definition of peaking at the wrong time. They might end at 12-5. They might even win the North (though I’m far from counting that chicken, Detroit and Green Bay both beg to differ). But they feel like a first round exit to me.
  17. It would be a very Browns move to can a 2x and reigning COTY five weeks into the season. Their problem is Watson. They need to Russell Wilson him, no matter the financial cost.
  18. I agree. And I’m not here to defend the media, but it feels like it’s been much more gradual than Biden’s. Maybe that’s just because he loves to hear himself talk, so he’s constantly in front of a microphone saying something stupid, while Biden I hear maybe 3-5 times a year.
  19. I agree. I enjoy it as well and normally I do go in person. I’m in and out of Michigan though right now for work, and I think as of right now I’ll be in DC on Election Day. That should be a trip, maybe they’ll change their mind if they think a state of emergency is going to be declared. But that’s why I voted absentee this year.
  20. Dropped off my absentee ballot in the mailbox this morning. All the political ads will stop now right?
  21. Game one is always important, but it feels like Cleveland needs a win today more than Detroit does. If Detroit can pull this off Cleveland will have to steal one from Skubal. No easy task.
  22. Back and forth game so far with the bye week. What a Moran.
