Someone is going to spend a lot of draft capital for him and a lot of money on him. They’ll probably even hire someone — a dude — to give him a massage every day. But he is not a luxury, or a PR challenge, that this franchise is remotely in the market for.

What’s the over/under on the number of minutes that Holmes and Campbell spent contemplating trading for Watson? I have it at about three minutes.

That decision might be worth half a billion dollars to Watson.

Yes, maybe Willis will go #2 to a team like Washington. Maybe they forgot about RGIII and they will once again trade a big load of draft picks to get RGIII part 2.

Willis might be gone at 6. They could run this draft a thousand times and he would never fall to 66.

Would Rodgers be in limbo if the Packers had not picked his replacement? Would the Packers have had an early end to their season if they had picked a guy like Tee Higgins (or literally anyone else left on the board) instead of Love? I dislike Rodgers as much as the next Lions fan but it must be hard to give a team MVP level performance then get knifed in the back by a FO that is too clever for its own good. Say what you will about the Rams and Bucs, their front offices wanted to win and went all in to get their QBs and build teams around them. The Packers FO should be all in on its home grown HOF QB but instead just wants to remain above average.

Nobody in this draft class is of Goff’s or RGIII’s caliber as a prospect. Maybe some team will talk itself into going after Willis but I would not bet on Philly or NYG doing so. Denver has some 2s, but they don’t seem interested in a QB prospect. Washington? Snyder is erratic enough to mortgage the future but this would require future picks to complete. If they could work something out with WFT it would give Detroit three 1s next season though, which would almost assure them of getting their choice of next year’s QBs.

Sarcasm mode was on. It will not happen. Now is the time of year when mock draft websites goose their traffic by allowing fans to propose outrageous trades and then allowing bloggers to write about them like they are serious.

I would have given Donald the MVP but Kupp was a worthy choice. If only Martin Mathew had picked Aaron Donald, maybe that would have been Stafford winning the Super Bowl with the Lions, which I would have watched in a hot tub with my soul mate.

Matthew Stafford has given me more enjoyment as a fan than the Ford family has. Yes I want for him to win the Super Bowl, this year, next year, and every year until he retires. If his Rams somehow end up in the playoffs against the Lions I'll probably root for the Lions.

I once interviewed for a job where I later learned the interviewer had no intention of hiring me. He only included me because he needed to satisfy the person who recommended me. I interviewed for another job where I had the best credentials and experience but lost to someone because of what college they went to. I once got fired from a job after a new CEO came in. Two years later that CEO was gone. Ten years later and they haven’t grown a bit, though we were doing quite well when I was there. Maybe if I was (fill in the blank) I might assume people were out to get (fill in the blanks).

If someone trades up, it will be for a QB. And this QB year is a bit of a free for all. I guess if they can trade back to 6 with Carolina or 11 with Washington and still pick up a DE like Karlaftis I would get it, but I hope they don't overthink it. They're either going to get Thibodeaux or Hutchinson as is, either of whom they can project to shore up their most glaring weakness. Give Dorsey pick 32 if he is banging the table for it.

Wonder what people like Bob Quinn and Martin Mathew are thinking right about now.

Congratulations to Matthew Stafford. No player in the NFL deserves a chance to play in the Super Bowl more than he does.
