Statues aren't supposed to teach history. They're supposed to display reverence to a figure or object that may not even be historical. If the figure or object is no longer revered there's no need to continue revering it

if we're looking to literal statues for history education we got bigger issues my daughter has been learning history from books and teachers and they seem to have a lot more awareness than statues

Yep, I've definitely heard that analysis as well, and think it's true. I think his ridiculousness gets memory-holed when he's out of public eye. Another also related to what you're saying.... polling shows that among people who think they're both old doddering idiots, Biden wins those folks. So its def advantageous for anyone to help portray trump as having a bunch of sr moments. It's also good just from a typical primary of an incumbent standpoint, as he's effectively incumbent as you mentioned I'm just not super sure she's in a better position to do that now than she was 4 hours ago. Haley actually taking some legit swipes at slump in this speech. People in her crowd yelling that Trump wears depends and is a loser. Among other swipes Haley said he has Sr moments and explicitly called out him blaming her for J6 security.

Swift is an infinitely better business leader than Trump and that's one of his supposed qualifications for the job.

I've seen a lot of clips from some speech slump gave last night (same background in every clip), and there are many instances of slurring and sentences that make no sense.
