Cheap Trick can still rock it! This is from 2021:

Very Foo Fighters-ish so I can see why you dig that one. I prefer this one from that album:

The album before that one is solid start to finish

Apparently they also have a new album coming out around Halloween.

  2. Last night in Traverse City. They were tight and energetic. Not bad for some old farts! Was first row and got a pick. Normally getting a pick wouldn’t excite me but I’ve seen them 7 or 8 times and hadn’t got a pick before.

  3. Confronting the presidents by Bill Oreilly. He really digs into a lot of the backstories of each president and shares details that have been written about but perhaps not put together in one source.

I'm up to Polk so far and am amazed at how much some of the founding fathers despised each other.

  4. Ballerina. Freaking excellent. If you like the John Wick series, this is an excellent continuation.

Just when I thought I’d seen it all in an action movie (car chases, motorcycles, boats, machine guns, knives) they featured something I hadn’t seen before and it was awesome.

100%. National broadcast Benetti is the Benetti I thought we were getting, but we got a bit of a precocious teen instead. I think I'm the only Tiger fan alive who didn't like Lewin and Gibby's schtick, and thought Kirk was way better post-Lewin.

Oh. So you’re the one. 🤣

I recall you not being fond of Dan Dickerson when he first arrived on scene. You fixed that wrong so I have hope you’ll fix this one as well.

  6. I like Benetti and Dirks. A lot. It takes me back to Josh Lewin and Gibby. The nerd and the jock.

Jasons quickness and vast knowledge of a wide range of pop culture always amazes me. I’m quite certain that some of his references go right over a lot of peoples heads.

My brain operates in a similar fashion: when someone says something and i immediately have some movie quote or pop culture reference pop up. I don’t normally have the audience to verbalize them and, when I occasionally do, it has to be someone who gets it.

Going to see an old performer who isn't up to it anymore isn't anything that would be on my list, but I do remember going to Baker's (Keyboard Lounge) one night and Sippy Wallace was on. She was already 90 something and they had to help her to the stage, but once she got there it was like a light bulb going on, she was great - though you could still see what more she would have been if she still had 30yrs more energy. Musicians can be tough old nuts. I have recordings Artur Rubentstein made at 90, he was still bringing it.

On this, I recently saw footage of Ann Wilson from Heart in a wheelchair talking most of the lines in the songs rather than singing. The comments “she’s so brave…” were sprinkled into the comments referencing how this was a big waste of money.

I wouldn’t pay a dime to witness her “being brave”; much less $150. They made a fortune in the 70’s and 80’s. Sorry if you blew through it Ann. I have no financial obligation to support you phoning it in. I pay to witness a performance.

  8. Best (don’t laugh): White Trash in the early 90s. A wonderful high energy show with a horn section. It’s the only concert where I wanted more. Usually I will walk away at the end of a concert satiated or bored. Not this one. They were a one-and-done band that got a lot of play on MTV.

Worst: Molly Hatchet. Just awful live. No energy. They looked like they didn’t want to be there.
