  1. I have heard/read people say they don't like the Beatles, I have a friend who despises LedZep, but I have never heard/read anyone say they didn't like The Black Crowes. I saw them open for Aerosmith when they were relatively unknown and saw them headline an intimate show in the early 90's. I haven't seen them since but need to.
  2. All of those syndicated shows are voice-tracked. A lot of the satellite radio stuff is voice-tracked as well. There are some live shows (I think Alan Hunter is live as well as the woman who broadcasts from the RnR Hall of Fame) For the Black Crowes: they are a phenomenal band. So many great influences. I'll post a link to their most popular song and then some of the stuff that really cemented me in as a huge fan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYyRLTveFJQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-ooCI3yXhU&list=PLq3tMCadmukcDIiWevaz_agVuEroKHq6V
  3. There is a blood moon tonight. It starts about 1030 in Michigan, is fully visible at midnight and will last to about two am. https://www.wsj.com/articles/lunar-eclipse-2022-when-to-watch-blood-moon-11652533115?mod=hp_featst_pos3
  4. Former competitive eater who was the first prosecuted internet scammer and was previously convicted of forgery and grand larceny, has been sentenced in a PPE scheme. S.I. business owner on hook for $90K and jail time in COVID-19 PPE sales scheme - silive.com
  5. My advice is to try a reel mower. People powered, it’s great exercise, good for the environment and quiet. I’m not going to attaching my striping wheel to it so I lose that but the cut is magnificent.
  6. I’m not crying. You’re crying.
  7. That dude is either going to pursue a pilot's license or never get on a small plane again!
  8. I don't but if you need a wake up call.....
  9. It seems the Harvard attendees found the speech amusing while the Duke attendees were stone-faced.
  10. It takes a set of brass ones for sure. I saw Clutch on Saturday and they didn't perform Electric Worry which is arguably their most recognizable song.
  11. Oh you said it and I remember it all too well because it really stuck out to me! Unfortunately the old site is scrubbed so I can't link to it.
  12. When they do the replay, it looks like he got racked on purpose.
  13. I defer to Lee's assessment: "Rod is woefully unprepared"
  14. There were rumors swirling that Rod and Mario despised each other and people with keen ears recognized it. It all came to a head one day when Mario had had enough of Rod just sitting there reading twitter and not verbally analyzing. Mario decided to go silent and there was a dead air for an extended period of time before Rod finally noticed. Apparently strong words were exchanged after the broadcast which accelerated into fisticuffs. The men were summarily dismissed from the payroll.
  15. Masterfully utilized in The Wedding Singer.
  16. Notable snubs (feel free to add your own) who are still waiting after Dolly Parton, who I adore, and Eminem are inducted: Jethro Tull Iron Maiden Motorhead Soundgarden Bad Company Supertramp Smashing Pumpkins Stone Temple Pilots Ozzy solo Boston Joe Cocker Three Dog Night Motley Crue B-52's Blue Oyster Cult Jane's Addiction Thin Lizzy Foreigner Grand Funk Railroad Alice in Chains Tool George Thorogood America Peter Frampton Ted Nugent Black Crowes
  17. I actually was going to add that we will see Mario back in a couple of years if not sooner. People have short term memories and there will be the short term "I miss Rod" from the casual fans but if they can bring in the right 2nd person, they'll quickly become acclimated.
  18. That was fun to watch. That's some pro level drone flying right there.
  19. Mario was a professional and extremely milquetoast. I was proud of him that he finally had enough of Rod and had the balls to expose him. It's too bad he lost his job because of it. Rod was a clown who rode the coattails of his two weeks on the Tigers in 1984 and the color of his skin on the tail of the Garner hiring fallout from MLB.
  20. #1 Do You Feel Like We Do (Live) - Frampton (the ultimate stay in the car until it's finished song) Then in no particular order: Holy Wars/Punishment Due - Megadeth Snortin Whiskey - Pat Travers Nobody's Fault - Aerosmith Elo Kiddies - Cheap Trick 100,000 Years - Kiss Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner - Iron Maiden La Do Da - Journey Aerials - System of a Down Pleiades - King's X
  21. He was recently on Adam Carolla's podcast and it seems the rumors are true that he is really one of the most decent human beings to have ever inhabited the planet.
  22. If you've never seen Weird Al live, do it. Fantastic show.
  23. I suspect a lot of people's immune systems are down.
  24. I liked some of Lennon's stuff but I am of the opinion that he needed McCartney more than McCartney needed Lennon. YMMV. Together they were gold.
  25. Our esteemed friend Ed Goldsworthy used to like to say that the only good McCartney solo song was "Maybe I'm Amazed". Knowing his style of online interaction, I never really was sure if he was being serious or cantankerous (as he was wont to be on occasion). I always really enjoyed the Paul solo stuff much more than the other three.
