  1. Exactly. I’m asking for accountability. When I see the Lions commit a penalty I want it called. Period. I want the same for them. So why call the hands to the face/dacemask there? If they are going to selectively enforce the rules then there really should be a reasonable explanation of what they will and won’t call. For example that penalty had no impact of the play. The hold on Anzalone earlier in the game helped Lamar extend the play without pressure and complete a long 3rd down pass, keeping the drive alive and eventually score. What I want to know is why the defender directly in front of the referee whose job it is to watch for that hold decided not to call a hold that turned the player sideways. That’s all. Why call one penalty to kill a drive and ignore another? I’ll die on the hill of every, “not completing the catch” ruling after Calvin Johnson was robbed in Chicago. They set the precedent and I just wanted every catch after to be officiated the same way. Once you accepted the rule it wasn’t difficult to see. Dez did not complete the process no matter how many Cowboys fans scream. That was the rule. Period.
  2. It's not that the Lions didn't commit the penalty, it's the selective enforcement of offensive penalties based on the QB and not the actual degree that the penalty affected the play.
  3. That would have been PI on us.
  4. Now they throw flags on offensive penalties. Weird.
  5. I have no illusions that I can call plays. If Morton really calls plays like that then maybe he can’t too. Difference is I’m not trying to be an offensive coordinator.
  6. Just take a knee if you are going to throw 3 yards. Our genius OC is outsmarting everyone with this series.
  7. He literally watched that ball the entire way. Arnold sucks, but not on that play.
  8. That block on Hutch was called a hold on the punt.
  9. And then that as a PI, get out of here.
  10. I wish they call a hold on the Ravens OL. But instead it’s just our punt team that is being watched.
  11. That’s still the single greatest touchdown celebration of all time.
  12. “For now, last night’s outcome reinforces one critical fact regarding the McDaniel era. Via ESPN, the Dolphins under McDaniel are 25-12 against teams that enter a game at .500 or worse. Against teams that enter a game with a winning record, Miami is 3-14.”
  13. This has the be the first firing of the year, right? Sure they played better than anyone expected, but they are 0-3 and a mess.
  14. That's just a name. Getting a "first down" isn't only the first time you get over 10 yards. It's not tracked on the team stats at all. They now separate it out as interception and fumble. There is nothing else. It's the same outcome as a missed field goal. That's not a turnover either. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turnover_(gridiron_football)#:~:text=National Football League game statistics, having "no turnovers"). Discussions about it.
  15. It’s not a turnover though.
  16. I was watching the game with my dad and rewound it to show him that.
  17. Teslaa is my favorite Lion in long time. Michigan guy. I hope he is for real.
  18. Odunze was the best 1st round pick the Bears made in 2024.
  19. Trade Hutch for a run stuffer!
  20. Turns out kicking out of bounds would have been the correct move. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/vikings-could-not-have-forced-re-kick-of-deliberate-kick-out-of-bounds
  21. Agreed that you can’t judge him on one game. They played ok in the first half. Caleb had some bad misses, but had some good throws too. The second half was the Vikings playing more to their talent. The better team won. They would penalize the kicking team for kicking out of bounds repeatedly. Repeatedly committing a penalty on purpose can have consequences. I’m not sure what this one would be, certainly not granting a TD like in the Eagles Commanders game last year, but it wouldn’t be detrimental to the team not taking committing the penalty. If you can’t kick it out of the end zone then I suppose the onside kick is equal. You will be giving up a significant amount of field position when you get the ball back. Also, you would need to fair catch the pooch punt or risk it dying in play losing more time, so you can’t hope for a touchback from rolling into the end zone. Not being able to kick out of the end zone is the issue here. Maybe their punter has a bigger leg but they’ve never worried about it before? Anyway, it’s not a fireable offense for not having someone who can kick the ball through the end zone, but it does take an option off the table in the rare scenario you really need it.
  22. I think the old offense was just a big set of ingredients that was cooked up by the old OC week-to-week. They could try running the same plays from the same formations I suppose, but that will get you crushed in the NFL. The key is have the right plays at the right time more often than not and to hide what you are doing. Thats not something you can just borrow. You have to know it. Maybe Morton doesn’t? Maybe it was just one game and adjustments will be made. Maybe, as said earlier, the coordinators will get fired mid-season. Either way this game was a disaster.
