  1. Wonder if our organization’s goal is to win the AHL and we just never noticed. https://www.nhl.com/redwings/news/red-wings-acquire-michael-milne-and-wojciech-stachowiak-from-tampa-bay-lightning-in-exchange-for-ian-mitchell
  2. That was the last draft he had picks from the Stafford trade. It’s also the last year he was picking top half of the draft. Missing out on Quinton Mitchell by 2 picks really hurt. I wonder how much different that Washington game would have turned out.
  3. One win checks out
  4. Bears quietly rebuilding their line. Will be interesting to see if Johnson can have the same luck with a different group of castoffs. Bears will sign OT Jedrick Wills to a one-year deal
  5. Depends, will a better option with a free draft pick becomes available?
  6. “Everyone” knows that the trade isn’t official until the physical is passed and paperwork filed. Technically this is all legit, but it certainly appears that someone is acting in bad faith, and the timing between the failed physical and signing Hendrickson makes it look like the Ravens are the bad actor. It’s hard to believe that teams, agents, and players wouldn’t be less likely to make a deal with them knowing that they will back out of a deal if they see a better option. There isn’t really a fix to this, as deals can’t be finalized until physicals and paperwork, so there is inherently a delay between agreeing to a deal and making it official. The time between agreeing to a deal and the Ravens backing out is lost and can never be recovered. Players are signed and teams change strategy once deals are made. There is no rule set to protect teams from this. Even having a third party physician making the determination is probably not safe, there will always be the risk of bias. This is a case where the market needs to punish the Ravens based off of them now being more risky. Unless we learn that there is a serious issue with Crosby’s recovery, and given patients rights we really can’t expect to learn that, this is a really bad look for the Ravens.
  7. This seems exactly right. They didn’t expect him to make it to day 1 let alone day 2. That signing is better than the Crosby trade.
  8. I’d like that, but it doesn’t appear to be important to this team. Not sure what the job of the backup QB is here, but it’s not playing QB, that’s for sure.
  9. He can’t play just as well as any other backup we’ve had.
  10. Lions agree to terms with QB Teddy Bridgewater, CB Rock Ya-Sin
  11. I understand what you are saying, but that type of trade needs to be for someone younger. Parsons was 26 when he was traded for a players less than what the Raiders want. Three years difference is a long time when discussing football careers. Crosby is going to be in decline. You might be able to get a season or two out of him at the plateau, but he’s not going to be getting better. That’s two years of additional roster attrition for a guy who is as good now as he will ever be.
  12. Stay away from Crosby. Far far away. That was the dumbest trade. Old, hurt, and expensive. Pass.
  13. Then you trade down. Someone wants that defensive player. And it was bad business not to move up and get a tackle if you put all your eggs in the draft basket.
  14. The plan B is trade up.
  15. Also, if the only remaining players in the tier are positions the Lions don’t need (RB and QB, for example) then the Lions would possibly explore trading back.
  16. Outside of a few exceptions early in the draft, I don’t believe that the grading system is that finely tuned. There is just no objective way to differentiate players from different positions. At their pick they will likely have players clumped and they will choose one who plays a position they need from that pool of players. It’s possible that someone they had in a higher rated group last beyond the rest of their group, and historically that’s when Brad decides to trade up.
  17. “Smith has dealt with multiple injury issues over the last few years. He has not played a full slate of games since 2019, when he started all 16. He played 16 games in 2022 as well. But in the last three seasons, he’s started 10, 12, and 13 games for Indianapolis.“
  18. That’s probably as good as you can hope for, Walker is probably one of the few backs that can expect a larger share of the touches than Gibbs here. Curious if the Chiefs had interest in resigning him. Don’t think I heard anything.
  19. Raymond to the Bears.
  20. Aaron Jones would be interesting, assuming he’s ok being #2. There will also be questions by any potential free agent about the split, last year would give anyone pause that their career could die here.
  21. Same. But he’s #1 there.
  22. I wanted no part of Tua. I’ve been wrong a lot but he was a hard pass. Same with Fields.
  23. Just when you thought the Raiders overpay for a center couldn’t be worse… The full Tyler Linderbaum contract is guaranteed, as a practical matter
  24. Wondering if they are trying to buy a bunch of lottery tickets to in the hopes they can flip few for draft picks in the next couple years. They are going to be bad and have salary cap. Might as well.
  25. The Raiders are going to Raider Raiders agree to terms with DE Kwity Paye
