  1. They can love him all they want, but he is what he is. I don’t think he’s going to magically turn into a player just because they guys who drafted him still want to believe.
  2. These contracts are always overstated. Still big money, but the cap is always going to go up. The entire business model depends on it.
  3. I think I prefer Dowdle to Dobbins or Allgeier.
  4. Thoughts on the Rams trading and signing half the Chiefs defensive backfield?
  5. Makes way more sense.
  6. Gary is going to be pissed.
  7. He reworked his deal earlier. Allgeier is an RB2 just like he would have been here. Not a fan anyway.
  8. I just don’t think Holmes is going to spend money this way. I’m not qualified to say if it’s the right or wrong move. I think Holmes prioritizes preserving future assets over increasing current odds. As long at he doesn’t forget how to draft the Lions will likely be average to above average for the long haul, similar to the Steelers. But unless he has another home run draft or two the Lions will be above average at best. That’s certainly better than most of the Lions history. Maybe if we can string together enough average seasons we might luck into a Super Bowl like this years. Either as the Patriots who got a softest schedule and injury luck, or as the Seahawks who faced a team that didn’t belong there.
  9. Was never going to be a big name.
  10. Not bad for a guy on the Giants practice squad in 2024.
  11. Hal Half of the position groups at 7 or above is not a good sign. 4 of the 5 defensive groups and the entire OL.
  12. It was fun while it lasted, but they have look overmatched much of the season despite managing to hang in games. They seem destined to peak as one of those playoff bubble teams perennially. I guess that’s better than being dog****.
  13. Ben Johnson: Lions players will be blown away by Drew Petzing’s offensive knowledge
  14. This was mostly based off you saying it would be like building a stadium in Ecorse. The Lions were already in Pontiac and Pontiac was never a great town, so it’s not unheard of. I don’t know how many travel to Gary today. I can guess how many more would on 8-ish Sundays a year if the Bears move there though. A stadium’s worth. Using baseball attendance for the secondary team in a city is probably not the best measure. Solider field to Gary is 29 miles. The site of the Silverdome to Ford Field is 28 miles. I’m not saying people would love it or that it’s the greatest idea, but I am saying fans will still go because football is a huge draw and it is likely financially beneficial as well.
  15. He is 100% responsible for the headlines on his site. I’m so tired of the excuse for spreading misinformation as, “well this was reported elsewhere.” Stop copying other people’s poor work and go do it yourself. You can’t completely unlink someone’s name from a situation once they are falsely implicated. We need to stop forgiving the spread of damaging misinformation simply because it’s a side effect of being quick to report.
  16. You may not believe this, but I have a story about a little place called Pontiac.
  17. Florio did as much due diligence as I did.
  18. Two men with possible ties to Mike Florio face armed robbery, kidnapping charges
  19. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/iowa-enters-the-effort-to-lure-the-bears Come on London. Throw your hat in the ring! St Louis?
  20. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1AKJif4CHQ/?mibextid=wwXIfr Turns out it was even better But the only video I can find is on Facebook. Each goalie first faced a breakaway, took a shot full length of the ice, shot at a mini net near the blue line, then finally made their run at the hardest shot.
  21. I’m so happy Stafford won the MVP. Great QB and great guy.
  22. Didn’t even know that happened.
