  1. I was at the Vikings game. You could see Sewell was playing hurt. I think it’s the kind of thing the camera don’t always pick up, but he was on the ground in pain several times. He’d just get up quickly, but you could tell he’s fighting through injuries. Ratledge too. He actually went to the locker room for a series. We all know about Decker’s injuries. I think the OLine is just beat up and thin. There is no real depth (even Manu is hurt, though he played terribly)
  2. The thing I worry about Campbell calling plays is that there is no one to jump in and change the tone. This is possibly true for all head coaches that call plays. Campbell is at his best when he’s pulling levers to in the background. I think he’s got to spend too much time thinking about the next play to look at the bigger picture. Doesn’t mean he can’t be successful. Just means that when things are going poorly it’s harder for him to make a big change.
  3. Goff was in the process of getting sliced in half. I don’t think he had a chance to survey the field. If we could have given him an extra second he probably would have seen it.
  4. What if the Lions have to play the Eagles on the road in the playoffs? The worry isn’t that they lost. It’s how overmatched they looked on offense when it wasn’t Gibbs or Jamo with the ball (and then not leaning into that). This game and the Vikings games were concerning. They exposed a huge issue with the Lions offense. The kind of issues that good teams are going to exploit. The goal isn’t to have a winning record with this team, it’s to try to make the Super Bowl. The OLine is a problem. Between injuries and zero depth they are in bad shape. There is no one coming to save them. They have to roll with what they have. The Lions have to figure this out, ASAP.
  5. Honestly, most QBs facing that kind of pressure will struggle. That’s why pass rushers make so much money. They can change the outcome of a game.
  6. Think they needed a better OL plan than Colon. Not really anything they can do now.
  7. Ok, I’m ready now. This needs fixing. It’s not just about the Lions. It changes the outcome of games.
  8. If there were ever a time to create a turnover. It’s now.
  9. There is no way he makes this kick, right?
  10. They actually have. It’s impressive. Expect for the td. But stopping it has been impressive.
  11. That was illegal contact at the least.
  12. We are a Gibbs TD away from making this very uncomfortable for the Eagles. 13-30? Ouch.
  13. Agreed. That’s part of the learning how to beat good teams. Can’t just say it’s hard so it’s ok to lose. They need to learn how to win these games.
  14. So the OC’s plan is to have Goff drop back? Where is the max protect? Where is the quick hitters? Jesus. Campbell is a great coach. He will be the first to admit his fault tonight.
  15. Yeah. Literally that’s his job. Call plays to counter what the defense is doing. Can just throw your hands up and say, I called the perfect play, but the offense messed it up. Then it wasn’t the right play. Literally nobody was fooled on the 3rd and 3 play action. Not even Chris Collinsworth. Listen, if it was like 50/50 you tip your hat to the defense. We are 0-a bunch on 4th down. It’s ok to say that’s not good.
  16. One option is punt and FG. Those are allowed too.
  17. Seriously? If the play is have 2 guys destroy the QB as he plants his back foot, or have the guard pushed into Gibbs, then maybe those plays were not the right ones. Idk man. If you can judge a play by the result what in the hell is the metric?
  18. Eagles just look like a better team. Limit mistakes and take advantage of situations. The Lions need to learn how to beat good teams.
  19. Every flag thrown. Makeup call that doesn’t actually undo the damage.
