Might get called for one anyway.

Still one of my favorite one of these. The moment he says Mrs. Ford. Man. Awesome.

His issue was always run d and injuries I thought. Still, would be nice to have room for another guy that can get to the QB in obvious passing downs.

Week Five: Detroit Lions (3-1) @ Cincinnati Bengals (2-2)

Hey @Motown Bombers, I’m legit sorry for being a jerk. You have every right to gloat. You have been consistent in your stance and I do respect you for backing Goff when most were skeptical. -

No problem. For the record I’m sorry for my part. It’s been a day. No excuses though. I’ll do better. -

Denver is solid too. Their defense is great and their offense is good. That’s not to say the Eagles have looked good. They’ve won ugly a lot. But at the end of the year a win is a win and good teams find ways to win. The Lions are good too. That being said, the line really struggled without Decker. Of course they looked bad week 1 and that got cleaned up so who really knows if whatever Manu was doing is correctable or not. The Brown’s defensive line is elite and the line held up just fine against them. After week 1 not many would have been sure that would be the case. I think the Lions will figure something out, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility that tackle depth could be an issue this year. Don’t forget that almost every DB is hurt in some form. Even Branch has had to come out for a few plays this year. -

I don’t know, maybe? I think Schwartz and Campbell are both super emotional, but Campbell can keep those emotions under control. It’s possible that Schwartz would have just been a little too unstable for a head coach. Maybe. Again, just guessing here. Campbell has fire but he’s somehow got it under control too. That’s a huge advantage for a leader. -

Agreed. The Ravens are objectively bad. This team can beat those same teams the Eagle have, but they have to do it first. -

I’m actually not mad. Just pointing out a pattern of false narratives that are being put forward. -

Same. I’m willing to engage in a conversation though because that’s what this whole thing is for. I’ll continue to call you on your exaggerations too. Feel free to block me if you need. That will only reenforce how fragile you are, given your admitted need for a victory lap. -

And it was never about glorifying Ben Johnson. It was about questioning the unknown. Wondering if the transition from offensive assistant to offensive coordinator was going to work for Morton. That’s not a dig on him either, lots of people are good at one job and not at the next level. Nothing wrong with that at all. They are different jobs with different responsibilities. Take Schwartz for a Lions related example. Even if he never takes another head coaching job he is a terrific defensive coordinator. Was before the Lions and still is after. He was just an ok head coach. Had some pretty serious flaws but also had strengths. -

What are you looking for? A sticker? We all know that you never had any doubts at all. Ever. Got it. That kind of blind confidence isn’t exactly the positive you think it is. I was wrong about Goff. I was wrong about Gibbs. I was wrong about Jack Campbell (or Dan after the helmet thing for that matter). So what? I don’t know what I’m talking about. Neither do you. We are both just fans. Chill with the arrogance. You actually make being a fan here harder with the drama. -
I honestly think he was weighing the risk vs reward of diving into that mess. But it’s funny that it looked like that rung his bell.

No one with any sense wrote the Lions off. People after week one were saying that it was concerning. There was change. 2/5 of the oline and both coordinators. That never meant that people thought the Lions were going to be terrible. It was concerning. The expectations were high coming in. The oline was really bad yesterday after losing the 3rd guy from last year. That doesn’t mean it’s over. But it’s concerning for when they start playing good teams. It’s also possible the Lions make adjustments and the play is better. But it’s concerning. See how one can say something without using hyperbole? Being obnoxiously rosy retroactively doesn’t help with the conversions. And building your strawmen so you can blow them over is as bad as TP in game threads looking to fire everyone (no offense TP). At least he can say it’s all in the heat of the moment. You are systematically choosing to beat a fictional dead horse that only exists in your mind. No one rational is saying Goff is a product of the system except you setting up your arguments. -

I was wondering about those wires today. Seems like the only way that would be an issue is if they had the camera off to the side and I don’t know why they would ever position the camera there.

It’s only the wrong call if you think your opponent can string together at 9 minute drive.

Needs to be someone who tackles to be considered. I bet they roll with what they have. -

I’ll be wearing my black St Brown jersey. Does that count? -
I got the impression your stance is that a tie can’t be climatic. I think that just isn’t true. To further that point, I think many NFL games end anticlimactically in regulation and almost every tie ends with some sort of climax. I think some people might not be satisfied with a tie and somehow satisfaction and excitement are being confused. I think the climax of a football game is less likely to be at the end than some earlier point. I do think if one goes into a football game thinking evenly matched teams might end up tied then one could possibly be satisfied with that outcome too, especially if the game is as exciting as this one was.
