  1. I have no idea how Seattle’s new owner would be willing to take this on. Its lose-lose. Sign him now and you pay him until the case is resolved, knowing that he’ll likely be upset at the contract if he’s cleared to play. Or wait and see the verdict then compete with other teams willing to sign him if cleared.
  2. I still believe he used his influence at Fox to push Champion out, who was a great broadcaster.
  3. I have the pregame on Direct TV and they are currently broadcasting hot mics in what looks like should be showing something else. Not sure if this across the board or just this feed. Fingers crossed Dan Miller says something that gets him replaced.
  4. I must be seriously underestimating Shough.
  5. From the second picture I’m pretty sure it is.
  6. I wonder if packing the front office with ex-teammates rather than skilled talent evaluators played a part. I don’t know if that’s something he didn’t do in Tampa to say that’s what went wrong here, I just doubt that the best people for key jobs in the front office all just so happened to play on the same team with the GM back in the day.
  7. Trading a center for a center makes no sense for anyone else, unless it’s a prospect lottery ticket. I don’t want another prospect we leave in GR for 3 more seasons until they give up. Get your goal scorer for Larkin then trade someone else for a center if you are so sure that getting your first legit goalscorer in a very long time won’t result in more wins. I don’t want to trade Edvinsson, but trade him for a center if that’s what it takes to start being considered by good players. What we are doing isn’t working. If Robertson’s contract results in us not having money to sign veterans with nothing left, then even better. I’d rather lose with more youth than lose with cooked free agents.
  8. I agree with this. I actually thought Robertson was too good of a return to expect before realizing what that contract will look like.
  9. If I had to put it in baseball terms it would be Yzerman was up with 2 outs and he failed to make contact on a hit-and-run and the runner was caught stealing. Sure he gets a fresh at-bat next inning but it’s an inning later and there is now no one on base. Hardly a success, but not the worst outcome for him.
  10. Drafting someone and trading them for a lesser pick years later is a waste. Salvaging a pick is certainly not a success, it’s barely treading water. To put it in perspective, if we traded every first round pick several years later for a first round pick they would actually be worse. If you want to make the case that it’s better than a bust, sure. But it’s probably the second worst outcome.
  11. Isn’t that true for almost any organization though? That the guys on the cusp are slightly under but are offset by the guys who have developed successfully. I think the data and the results agree. Now if the last few and next few drafts hit the players will contribute and the overall data will look better and I expect the results on the ice will as well. If if if. Grandma … wheels … bike. As it stands today there is not a lot of room for misses, given all the misses already.
  12. It kinda feels like the results on ice are supporting his take though.
  13. Maybe he’ll be fine then. Our backup is no Montgomery so we need him for the full season.
  14. Also have to hope giving Gibbs even as little as 1.5x the workload doesn’t cause extra wear and tear.
  15. Reading that there is a chance the Lions can use conduct to avoid paying anything else. Results last year seemed to show he was a net positive. Going to be hard to find a replacement player or better now. Really feels like the magic of a few years ago is fading.
  16. Oh boy, an already bad defense just got significantly worse. Imagine Barry and Calvin being forced to pay back their signing bonus but Arnold gets to keep his!
  17. I think the Wings are out of rope for missing on 1st round picks. We are at the point that making the playoffs would feel like winning the cup. We aren’t even expecting to win a series, just make the playoffs.
  18. Does that mean the wings could have potentially traded Cossa and their 1st for McTavish?
  19. Let’s just roll 4 lines of middle-six and see what happens.
  20. Is trading your first round picks for first round picks 5 years later the best way to ensure you are perpetually rebuilding?
  21. https://www.tmz.com/2026/06/25/lions-terrion-arnold-appears-court-armed-robbery-charge/ I searched so you don’t have to. It’s anti-suicide.
  22. Lions don’t know when Kerby Joseph will be healthy enough to return
  23. If it included 50 I am 100% out.
  24. Lions sign first-round pick Blake Miller, rest of 2026 draft class
