    Which would be strange given the fact that they wanted to test all of these young guys in the majors. Every single beat writer and podcast said that the arrow on Meadows was pointing up. It is only 9 games; His speed and defense are a plus but he certainly cannot hit this poorly for much longer.

    I don't want to hear about holding open spots for JHM and Jung when the young guys you already have aren't consistent. You add reasonably priced vets to up the floor of the team. Then you sort out which young guys are good, and the ones who suck.

    last few years...two horrible games turns in to an 8 game losing streak. Let's see if they've improved enought to stem the tide..split against the Pirates and come back home.

    We are back to games where just avoiding the shutout is the goal..not great.

    This season is about trying to figure out if the 'young core' is good. If they win 84 games, that would be a nice bonus. They could have improved the offense with small moves but chose to roll with this. It's about the young players figuring it our leveling off to what they are. Every game is a data point.

    I think they still have the late Sunday starts because everyone thought the Peacock deal(11:30 AM games) would be renewed...Peacock and mlb never came to terms. I wonder if they will change them back.

    Tork shouldn't need a swing coach every year. He was fine last year..not great but pretty good. Shouldn't be this hard.

    Not trying to be a hater of Tork; He's had two good months...the rest has been bad. I hope he can sustain to a decent level.

    They were 13th in the AL in offense last year. My goal would be go get into the top 10.

    Alvarez was ready for the split..Mize just has to get through a little adversity.

    The offense is going to pivot on the young hitters development. Right now, all of them are popping up or grounding out. So we just need to see a few get going. As it stands now, Greene and Tork are unproven over the long term.
