  1. Tork has essentially leveled off as a mid player with very little defensive value. He will go through some stretches where he hits for power, but then doesn't make contact..and then it will be reversed. He's right handed so he can carve out a decent career. He will be good enough where you are scared to get rid of him but you can't expect him to be much better than this.
  2. This is just a whatever outcome. Ashcraft dominated..the Tigers didtn' really do anything dumb...just could not muster anything...oh well.
  3. If Finnegan didn't have another year on his deal, he would be gone.
  4. another unprofessional performance by Framber.
  5. Their home and road splits have flipped lol
  6. Carpenter going to a foot specialist..would not expect him back this season. His future on the team should be in doubt with the left handed hitting on hand.
  7. Framber is just sloppy...can't command the ball and consistently miss bats.
  8. Does Melton have a hard innings limit?
  9. I view this as a reversion win...The opponent doesn't matter. In the 7th or 8th, Finnegan and/or Sommers blows the game if it's in June. They didnt' necessarily pitch well. Jansen was better and Holton regained form. Big test against the low event kings this week.
  10. Can they win a low scoring game that relies on defense, bullpen, timely hitting? Haven't been able to do it consistently all year.
  11. They are going to get that test against Cleveland next week. We will see if they can win low event games.
  12. ElAttrache is the new James Andrews.
  13. Carpenter's main issue is durability. He goes on the IL twice a year and if basically out two months. If he was just a no walk/big power guy, that would be fine. But he has to be on the field.
  14. And Carpenter, who was legit terrible.
  15. Rays 2nd and 3rd prospects were catchers..Tigers went with a needs based approach and that's why the Dodgers won.

  17. I'm not diving into the splits..but I figure their pitching has been mostly good the entire time. The offense is catching up. Here's the real question, were all of the losses in leveraged situations a fluke, bad luck? Can they have a normal reversion to the mean and close a few tight game when it matters? If they can, then the run differential will matter and they will win the division. Their defense has improved to mediocre over the course of the season..if you are looking for another reason for the surge.
  18. Tigers were 12-28 on the road after losing in Houston on June 28th..they are now 26-32..They have won 6 consecutive road series.
  19. Gards ball getting swept at home by the Mets is 2025 Tigers core.
