  1. Flaherty pitched ok...in the same vein as Maeda and Manning. Gave the pitiful offense a chance.
  2. This is a season of evaluation..they have to figure out what value the young hitters are going to provide. Winning today's game is secondary to that discovery.
  3. I think meadows has struck out in every at bat since Friday…time is running out.
  4. A lot of hitting is just guessing at the swing decision point. Canha executed poorly and gidp’d at the wrong time….crap happens. His track record indicates that he will get it right most of the time.
  5. Offense went down in order in 7 of the 9 innings. That gets you one run on four hits.
  6. The offense is challenged with these empty positions. Some guys have to perform or we have to wait until they do. They emptied the chamber bullpen wise in game one so it's good that Manning gave them a competitive start.
  7. He's going to miss saturdays in the fall too. I think he's the second fox announcer behind Gus Johnson.
  8. Captain America defending democracy:
  9. Skubal gets the handshake...well rested bullpen will need 4 innings.
  10. Meadows should hit 10th...followed by Baez.
  11. Meadows hit well - struggling Tork struggled - struggled I was just bringing up that there was no correlation between spring and regular season.
  12. Tork should be more ready made given his career path(3 years in college). We should have basic competency with questions about his upside. But maybe they rushed him, his development was screwed up? I'm not sure. Hopefully he can get it going.
  13. The defense kept them in the game. Vierling showed some tremendous range.
  14. Meadows hit well in ST...goes both ways.
  15. Avila likely rushed him to the majors in 2022..That's his fault and a feckless owner who put him in charge of a rebuild. But we do have to reach a certain baseline for him to be considered a core piece.
  16. Barring a rainout for Minny, Pablo Lopez vs Skubal on Thursday afternoon.
  17. Those guys have skills beyond hitting. I would take Greene off the list. He's been fine imo. Rogers and Meadows are currently a problem.
  18. The months count and he ended up with a .758 OPS. He had a horrible March April, Good May, Mid June/July, and killed it in August/September. Why are we repeating March/April of 2023? We have no choice but to patient. They need him to be good.
  19. Can't replace every hitter in the lineup..but Rogers is a one outcome guy right now.
  20. Last year's stats are just ok. And it was only two months of prolific hitting.
