  1. Tork's going to make these infielders tired with all of the popouts.
  2. Tork shouldn't need a swing coach every year. He was fine last year..not great but pretty good. Shouldn't be this hard.
  3. Not trying to be a hater of Tork; He's had two good months...the rest has been bad. I hope he can sustain to a decent level.
  4. This is the exact game to use Wentz; You are behind and are playing another one.
  5. This is the exact game to use Wentz; You are behind and are playing another one.
  6. They were 13th in the AL in offense last year. My goal would be go get into the top 10.
  7. Alvarez was ready for the split..Mize just has to get through a little adversity.
  8. The offense is going to pivot on the young hitters development. Right now, all of them are popping up or grounding out. So we just need to see a few get going. As it stands now, Greene and Tork are unproven over the long term.
  9. You're going to have to play Carpenter against lefties in a full game. I don't quite get the two catchers in a game thing. I'd much rather have Carpy DH in this scenario. The Mets have maneuvered the game well enough that a pinch hitting chance hasn't come up.
  10. ESPN hates the tigers https://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/39437646/top-30-mlb-farm-systems-prospects-list-2024-kiley-mcdaniel-cubs-orioles-tigers-padres premium link

  12. It's probably too late for them. They'll get bridge deals or much bigger money.
  13. This is small potatoes money...very low risk.
  14. 28 years old, no bad one year deals, could work out like Matthew Boyd or maybe he gets in the Fetter pitching lab and does some good things
  15. The free agent class is terrible. But there should be opportunity to find a team that wants to cut payroll and take a big contract off their hands to fill in offensive gaps.
  16. I would be fine with overextending on a pitcher...even with the implicit injury risk.
  17. On Petzold and Voldemort's pod, they posited that the Tigers would be content with adding at least 3 rookies(JHM, Keith, and Jung) and roll into 2024 as another evaluation season. Voldemort pushed back on that thinking...given how low the payroll is now. The free agent class is terrible. However, I don't think you can sell a skeptical fanbase on just adding more young and untested hitters as a path to improving a still terrible offense.
  18. A Meadows will be non-tendered IMO...Alexander not sure on(edit. meant Wingenter). I don't get the Turnbull thing. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/10/projected-arbitration-salaries-for-2024.html
  19. I would take a middling/league average type vs lighting at-bats on fire with Maton..in the name of misguided player development. If you see stories about how they fixed Maton's pitch recognition and swing, then they are going to try that again. Free agency should be about floor raisers. Development is where you get high ceiling types.
  20. Rough scene for a former poster and current podcaster.
