  1. Unless they are signing Yamamoto from Japan, I don't see a lot of good fits. The hitters are past the aging curve; Maybe a pitcher on a short team deal to backstop in case of injuries. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/2023-mlb-free-agency-ranking-top-25-players-leading-with-shohei-ohtani-yoshinobu-yamamoto-cody-bellinger/
  2. The free agent class is terrible so that isn't the way. It's via trades and unexpected development. Let's see if Harris has the goods. If you say you don't want to block young players, actually follow through.
  3. Good plan...that takes a lot of time, luck and precise development. In the meantime, I want them to try and compete on the margins while these young players are integrated into the roster. You can't have so many black holes in your lineup while we are waiting for young guys.
  4. When we had multiple great hitters and a legit starting rotation.
  5. The free agent market is bad for everything. Old hitters and old starting pitchers.
  6. The results don't matter this late in a lost season. I would like to see the 'core 3' get back on track soon. And I'd like to see Manning and Skubal have some good outings. Aside from Meadows, I'm not really sure that any of the other guys are potential long term pieces. Get to the end of the year and try to improve the team.
  7. Will they use the Baez contract to argue against spending on major league players? Absolutely.
  8. Highly doubtful that you see Chris Jones in this game...even if he ends his holdout.
  9. When those guys don't slug the baseball, the offense has no chance.
  10. Harris and Ilitch should take note. When their young guys don't hit, it's still an unwatchable/dreadful product.
  11. Tigers cannot lift the ball....all grounders offense.
  12. Having a worn out bullpen is a stealth way to tank games..while still seeing some growth from young players. I don't mind it.
  13. I think we are revisiting the Eric Haase problem. They really don't have anything down there.
  14. Weird paste from that Tork Table. It came from this Fangraphs article: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/spencer-torkelson-is-breaking-out/
