  1. some bad luck with batted balls and then issues with guys who can't make contact.
  2. Play some defense, hit homeruns..easy.
  3. Tork and Greene have be mid or above average..We can safely say they aren't going to rise above their level...they're not going to develop better contact skills or get their agility back.
  4. This season is about Riley and Tork establishing if they are part of the offensive core or if they are just guys. It's early.
  5. They are last in the AL in homers and 8th in slugging..hopefuly that reverts to some norms.
  6. They haven't faced a lefty starter all year...right now he's giving Vierling, Baez, etc at-bats until that picks up.
  7. April 13th is their next off day.
  8. They got 4 good starts and probably deserve to be 3-3. I dont' have much patience for 'core' hitters who can't consistently produce. We are out of the development phase and these guys are probably not going to get much better. We need them to settle into their norms...and quick.
  9. Last year's collapse has made circumspect about getting too high or low after game 5. I'm more worried about health and the macro stuff.
  10. -Mize was very good(best start in his career)? -Offense still too spotty; needs some random power..could be a Tork even year regression -Bullpen doesn't have a great flamethrower(they don't seem to have much in the org, don't emphasize it)...but last night was just a cluster of dumb stuff happening at once.
  11. He doesn't walk and strikes out a lot, it doesn't make sense in the early innings. I think Hinch is trying to setup match ups in the middle of the game. But you still need to get on base early.
  12. Tigers traded Dylan Smith to the Giants for Cash Considerations.
  13. Tork said that they did not act in time to get a challenge. It's like 6-8 seconds and then the ump moves on. They don't let you check with the dugout. They just have to do it and deal with the consequences. Hinch has not put a limitation on anyone.
  14. The guy who replaced him is even more fringy.
  15. Wow they are pushing him into a high 80 pitch count in the first game...kind of weird with a day off tomorrow.
  16. If Greene, Tork, and Carpenter get going, they can carry a few of them. McKinstry isn't going to repeat last year...I think he is on borrowed time; They aren't facing a LH starter the entire trip so Vierling is going to get some run.
  17. Is Carpenter Riley Greene with better pr?
  18. They probably want Meadows to leadoff..but he needs to deliver on proof of concept.
  19. i meant left handed...trying to figure out how much time Baez and Vierling will get in the first set of games.
  20. Based on projected starters/no rainouts, the Tigers will not face a right handed starting pitcher in the first 6 games. Rainouts in SD are unlikely; AZ has a dome.
  21. Max Anderson, John Peck, Tomás Nido, Burch Smith, Sean Guenther, Ricky Vanasco reassigned to minor-league camp.
