Really good move to get Joe for just 2 seconds. 40% regular season 3pt shooter and 38% in the playoffs. OKC just has too many good players, so they can afford to lose him. My only issue with it is we have a 6'6" PG and we're just giving away that huge defensive advantage by collecting smaller players to put next to him for some reason. They've got to at least move Sasser this offseason, right?

This should give Christian Anderson time to acclimate to the league. Then you flip White on the final year of the contract.

Out of all the garbage people are throwing against the wall to see what sticks, I like the mention of JSJ best.

That said, this is a terrible return for one of your few tradable assets. Feels a lot like the Ivey dump. I have no idea what Trajan is doing this off-season but so far it’s been pretty bad.

On one of Ku’s recent shows with Ant Wright he was saying "Stew is gone. Trust me. They’re trading him." He wouldn’t say why and then he messaged Ant on the side to tell him. They made a joke out of it, but it seemed like he knew something. I’m just connecting dots that may not be there but we were all questioning what happened to Stew during the playoffs, why his playing time went down, why he disappeared, and him saying he wasn’t injured. Just makes me wonder if he got into it with JB or something and it was serious.

I'm glad they paid Reeves. Now we can watch the Lakers flame out in the playoffs every year behind Luka and Reeves playing zero defense.

Salt in the wound. Knicks take Carr.

Okorie is an on-ball player. I just don't see why you move up to get a small lead guard when Cade is your high usage on-ball superstar. We moved up in the draft to get a bench PG who will only be featured for about 10 minutes per game when there were shooting wings who could have replaced Robinson? Or are we leaning in to JB's pet lineup where he sat Ausar for Schroeder/Jenkins the last two years? I don't hate Okorie because I don't know a ton about him, I just dislike picking him when there are guys like Carr or even Evans still on the board.
-
Also hilarious that they found a way to go to commercial after what turned out to be our pick...again.
-
In that case, I guess Trajan got his man. On a team that desperately needs 3-and-D players, with Carr still on the board, you move up to get a guy who would probably be there at 21. Pretty clear that what I assumed was true. The cost to get Murphy included this year's pick and Trajan fell in love with his draft board.

Wow. They take Trajan's darling (reportedly), Okorie.
-
Sounds like they swapped picks. OKC moves up one spot for 2 seconds.
-
Because OKC didn't have enough 1st round picks.
-
Thank you, Memphis. I appreciate you taking that bullet for us.

Seems high for Swain, right?

Always gets me up with the "We have a trade to announce." And then I realize it's just the trade we all knew about 10 hrs ago.
-
And if you don't sign him to an extension you're giving away the few trade assets you have for a one year rental. It's lose/lose.
-
Pick 14 and on...time to start thinking about trading up for Carr.
-
S&T Duren and add Holland + picks.

If you buy Stein as a legitimate source, the Pistons are now talking to the Bucks about Herro.
-
I'd rather have Carr, but if you get Yaxel at 21 that's a nice draft. I doubt it though, at this point all we're dealing with are pre-draft smokescreens. Yaxel goes no later than 15.

These things have a tendency to expand since they won't be officially signed off on for another 2 weeks. We aren't out of the woods just yet.
-
It's the Wizards. Who's staying there without an overpay after that many years of losing in a cold state that isn't tax free? They probably just want to sell some tickets and not be at the bottom of the league next year.

I'm not looking for a 20+ ppg scorer that's also a high end defender. That's an All-NBA player. Look back at what I said. I just want 3 and D players. Then you can add a sparkplug score-only guard pretty easily for a low number of assets. Guys like White and Sexton aren't expensive and they'll give you 80% of Herro without the 50M dollar salary. As others have said, Herro is injury prone and doesn't compete in the playoffs. And when he's not scoring, he gives you nothing other than a target for the opponent to score on. In that case, I'd rather keep Robinson. I certainly don't want to give up assets for him. We're doing them a favor to facilitate the Giannis deal and take a bad contract. They should be paying us for this. As for comparing Murphy's defense to Herro's, let's be real here. One guy gets the tough assignments every night on a bad team with no support. He's long, tall and athletic. The other guy has the opposite physical traits, gets hidden on the opponents worst offensive player every night, and still can't get out of his own team's way on defense. There's really no comparison. Would I give up the equivalent of 4 1sts for Murphy. In a heartbeat. We're talking about 2 of Stew, Holland, and Sasser and two future firsts that will be in the late 20s. Well worth it.

Glad to hear the last part of that. I'm hoping they don't think they can run it back and are looking to make a move. Whether a move is out there or not is another question. Based upon Trajan's presser it really sounds like he has no intention of trading this year's pick. This is a total guess, but I'd bet that's the sticking point in the Murphy deal. No way Weaver wants to stay out of this year's draft and they don't have a pick otherwise. I hope this isn't true, because Trajan falling in love with his draft board and not pulling the trigger on Murphy for that reason would be nuts.
