  1. I am so glad Stevie didn't trade these picks. I want him to take all 3 second round picks. After that, he can do whatever he wants from there on out. If we don't have a good enough farm system after adding 5 players in a "deep draft" then I don't know we ever will be. He can trade both of next years first rounders for a young player.... Very happy he stuck here with these two picks. Keep the next 3 then do whatever you want afterwards........
  2. Dariq Whitehead will be steal of the draft. Mark my words.
  3. You think the Pistons should of tried to hire Dan Campbell? I mean, it did work out for Richmond hiring Ted Lasso........
  4. Forgive my ignorance of not knowing a lot about football.... But aren't you praying 1st round DE's give you 10 sacks in a season? They basically picked this guy up for free and will get at least two seasons out of him for essentially nothing.... Why would a team sell so cheap? And why can't we trade all of our picks for proven All-star talent and win the Superbowl? Based on this logic, we should be able to get the best CB in the game for a 2nd rounder, the best O-line player for a 3rd.... Why would a team trade a stud player for nothing? I get salary relief, but if this guy got 10 sacks, HOW did they not get a 1st or 2nd rounder out of it? That makes no sense at all........
  5. I would just like one more year of depth before we go hog wild. I don't see the benefit of trading guys and picks just to "hopefully" make the playoffs.... I'd rather add five supremely talented prospects to our pipeline this year then start selling pieces next year for a larger push. But meh, I dunno much bout the NHL. Al Avila quit the rebuild too early. That was his problem. I just hope Stevey Y doesn't do the same thing with the wings.... After this draft, he should be solid for a while with a great farm. Winning must almost always come from within......
  6. If this draft is really deep (albeit with two main studs at the top), wouldn't Yzerman be better off using both 1st rounders and all 3 second rounders this draft? I don't know a lot about the NHL but everything I hear from ESPN and other sources say this is one of the deepest drafts there's been in a while. I also hear at the same time Yzer might package some picks for a player. Isn't the smart money to roll the dice with the 5 players this year in a deep draft?
  7. We still have a lot of cap space. Time for Teddy.
  8. I wouldn't consider Gibbs a RB though..... He's not 1 dimensional.... They are saying he will slot out and possibly line up at WR sometimes.... Not to mention he will be our main punt returner too....... Not bad value I don't think....
  9. So the recap: 1. Lions got probably the best athlete in the draft (not counting him as a RB since he will also lineup outside according to the Lions) 2. Best LB in Draft (we'll go with that) 3. A starting Tight end 4. Best Safety in the draft 5. Backup QB who was projected to be a 1st rounder 6. A depth piece who might be a starter someday. So four sure fire starters and one heavily favored future starter as well as a potential starter. This is actually a really good draft I think. I honestly didn't think we had 4 starting positions open even with the picks we had. But this is pretty neat. Honestly, the only think I would really like is a kicker. I know it's early, but next year, they can focus on restocking the O-line and D-line and some secondary pieces. They've done a great job solidifying the depth on the team.
  10. Kelee Ringo is still available..... a 1st/2nd round Corner...... *cough*
  11. Definition of trade bait.... Look at San Fran right now....... They were asking for a late 1st or early 2nd rounder for their backup QB......
  12. Serious question..... is Jake Moody the best kicker in this draft? The Lions have one 4th rounder, three 5th rounders and a 7th. We should burn a 5th on the best kicker in the draft. Whether thats Moody or not. I just honestly don't know who the best is......
  13. I like Hendon Hooker pick. A guy that "might" have gone in the 1st round. We can develop him. Save 8 mil a year at least in cap space for Bridgewater as a backup. I'll take that.
  14. I actually like this draft. Interesting to see where Swift gets traded tooo....... He's still a Lion. 🙂
  15. I don't want to sound crazy, but you think they are so excited trying to exude Job Security since Mrs. Ford was there? Maybe the over-reaction so they can convince Mrs. Ford they got a steal....... 🤣
  16. If Swift is worth a late round, why not package him with a pick to move up? They could make things interesting.
  17. I need to learn more about the league rather than just knowing the Lions lol.... I know Deebo's name but didn't realize he was such a catalyst for his team. I thought he was just a "good" player not even a great one. Sounds like he's more important than I thought. If thats the comparison for Gibbs, then I'll be more than happy with this pick.
  18. I really don't think Gibbs is a RB anyways. He's more of an athlete if that makes sense. It looks like he'll be doing some WR and catching plays on the ends as well.
  19. Yea but if they get Porter or Branch who they could have gotten at 18 (I saw some mocks with Porter at 6) at 34, then isn't this a win? Would you rather have Bijan or Porter/Branch + Gibbs? I'll take two playmakers over one. Let's say Bijan is a 10 (skillwise) and Gibbs is a 9. I'd rather take a 9 plus another elite player, than just getting a 10 at a position....... Just my opinion.
  20. Also, in terms of Gibbs. From what I'm reading, it doesn't really seem like he's a "RB" per se. Looks like they will be using him as a WR sometimes and he will be the main return man too. So we basically got three positions in one player. I'm starting to like this pick more and more. Maybe I'm just talking myself into it, but if we truly got a homerun hitter, then I'll be all for it if he spaces out to WR to take some heat of Amon Ra.
