  1. At no point did you quote me or you'd see the error in your assumption.
  2. I said they "may" and you can't assume it just happened because you just heard about it. Reading comprehension.
  3. Who says they "wasted all this time trying to hammer out a deal"? You? Some reporter? How do YOU know when they negotiated?
  4. We're all just hearing about this now, so we assume it just happened, but LA and Det may have known it for days.
  5. This is all likely old news that happened days ago.
  6. The original comment was he likely doesn't want an extension.
  7. Then he won't opt out and he has his current contract as security.
  8. I doubt he wants to be extended, when he can be an unfettered free agent in a few months.
  9. I believe what Passan is saying is that they worked out a deal, but couldn't satisfy ERod, which is why the deal is now "dead".
  10. Detroit will just pivot to the next bidder.
  11. Not at all
  12. People fall for this every year.
  13. Exactly, every prospect is, in essence, a lottery ticket, you can't look at any one at a point in time and say this one sucks and this one is a future star. Do some have greater odds of reaching success? Sure, but all have a ceiling to be fruitful major leaguers. JD Martinez himself was once a lousy prospect. The game is to accumulate prospects that have traits that you believe your staff can develop and profile in line with organizational values, and are upgrades from whoever they will replace in the organization. Most aren't going to make it, but if you keep upgrading at every level, at every opportunity, that's how you build an organization.
  14. I felt better about this regime after the draft. That was how I always hoped Detroit would draft.
  15. Nooooooooooo!
  16. Stupid bull**** is entertaining?
  17. Why? You’re more likely to get a high ceiling guy if he’s further away. Tigers need stars and nobody is going to give you a major league ready star, you have to take a gamble.
  18. Aim higher
  19. If that’s true, then no one is trading any kind of top prospect for him.
  20. There’s little point in creating a hole to fill a hole.
  21. I would give up on batting average as an indicator of performance, especially in the short term (year or two), and especially with developing talent.
  22. Englert's stuff and ceiling is much higher than what he is currently showing. The issue is why? Injury, mechanics? They need to figure it out because he is a promising prospect.
  23. He's shown much better stuff than this, somethings up.
  24. I suspect he's dealing with some arm issue, his stuff is off.
