  1. With this rivalry its never one way
  2. I get it, however, I think Michigan certainly has the capability of succeeding in the scenario you laid out
  3. What players? They brought back all their juniors who weren't being graded as first round picks, whoopdy do. Are you referring to the 6 transfers? Caleb Downs - OSU finished 2nd in his recruitment, he would have never left Bama if Saban didn't retire, most thought he was going to Georgia, but his father and brother were both spurned by Georgia, so he had no allegiance to them, I think he is certainly getting paid, but it wasn't just about money - if it was he would have gone to Miami or Texas A&M. Julian Sayin - A true freshman that left Bama because Saban retired, OSU finished 2nd in his recruitment, he has no bearing on the upcoming season. Judkins - sure. Will Howard - he came to OSU for one reason and one reason only - to boost his draft stock. He got a mid-round grade after last season and wants to see if he can propel himself to top 2 rounds. Seth McLaughlin - the C that was the laughinstock of the college football world 2 months ago - I highly doubt he is getting paid. Will Kachmarek - a TE from the Ohio University that grew up in Ohio, yeah, I bet they broke the bank on him. So, you are saying OSU spent "the whole offseason" buying 2 players? Didn't Michigan bring in more transfers before the 2023 season than OSU did this offseason, multiple of which they were obviously tampering with? Also, didn't Michigan start an entire NIL fund for the expressed purpose of bringing upperclassmen back for one more year? I have zero problem with that, by the way, but I just don't understand the faux outrage over OSU "buying" players this offseason. It is total nonsense and hypocritical. PS: Congrats on the championship.
  4. What do you mean by dominate the strike zone? If Dunn isn’t dominating the strike zone I don’t know who does. As for Stoudt, yeah, take him ha
  5. https://www.redlegnation.com/2023/07/30/cincinnati-reds-reportedly-interested-in-tigers-pitcher-eduardo-rodriguez/ The Cincinnati Reds are interested in Detroit Tigers left-handed starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez according to Mike Rodriguez. I think the tigers and reds match up nicely in a trade. I’d do something like Arroyo, Rece Hinds, Dunn, and Acosta for ERod and Lorenzen. I think that’s fair. Arroyo is a top 50 prospect in mlb. Hinds has very high level power and started making more contact this year, Acosta is a young starter with good stuff, and Dunn is MIF prospect that has shot up 3 levels this year while tearing the cover off of the ball. If this trade got it done I actually wouldn’t feel great about it as a Reds fan, but would set the Reds up well for rest of the year to make the postseason. Marte and Petty are untouchable in my eyes. I really would prefer not to trade Richardson and Phillips. I could see Collier getting moved as well.
  6. As a Reds fan, I would trade Arroyo for Eduardo, but not Marte. I wouldn’t trade Marte for just about anything. Maybe Cease.
  7. Ohtani to the Reds would be fun but I am absolutely against it. The Reds are finally coming out of their rebuild with a lot of exciting rookies and prospects. Would be very stupid to mortgage the future for 2 months of an excellent player. Lorenzen is more realistic. Not sure what it would take. If the Tigers demanded Petty, Marte, or Phillips I’d say no. I think something like Aguilar, Senzel, and Carlos Jorge would be fair.
  8. Absolutely wild that Crews very well might drop to the Tigers.
  9. I just do not see how the Pirates can pass on Skenes. He looks like a true ace. Crews looks very good as well, but not like a generational talent or anything. If they select a HS kid with Skenes and Crews on the board they should just fold up shop and call it a day. Would be embarrassing. With regard to the Tigers - gotta take Langford. If the Reds pass on Lowder for a catcher I will vomit.
  10. Yep, I was at that last game in Detroit. He was left in too long. I have watched a lot of Lorenzen, I have seen him go through stretches like this before to see him either get hurt or just fall off a cliff. I am not really a fan of FG prospect work at this point, they seem to lag behind the rest of the industry quite a bit IMHO. Phillips as a 45 is nonsense.
  11. Well, there is no way Petty or Phillips are coming back for a BOR starter that is a FA at the end of the season. Phillips will be in the Reds rotation probably by end of July with what he is doing to AA right now. Hinds is an interesting prospect, he hits for a ton of power, but hasn't put it all together, he is a lottery pick. Stoudt has a live arm, with that said, I can understand not wanting him. I think a fair trade would be Lorenzen for TJ Hopkins and a pitcher not named Petty, Phillips, or Acosta.
  12. Reds Get: RHP Lorenzen Tigers Get: RHP Live Stoudt OF Rece Hinds Who says no?
  13. Happy New Season, Tigers fans. I drafted Riley Greene in fantasy, so he better be good! With that said - I cannot tell who is worse this year, the Tigers or my Reds.
  14. Something seems off with Jaydn Davis's recruiting and I cannot quite put my finger on it. I think he is one of those kids from down south that think it makes sense for his pro career to come up north to play but is looking for a reason to stay closer to home. I have a feeling he is going to choose Clemson at the end of the day. I do not think there is any way he goes to OSU, even though he included OSU in his final list. OSU doesn't even seem to be recruiting him anymore, they are going after Air Noland. I think at the end of the day it is going to be down to UM and Clemson. UM has the ace up their sleeve of saying "if you come here you will have the inside track to take over as leader of this program the moment JJ leaves" Will be interesting to follow.
  15. Hey folks, long time no see. I saw Lorenzen signed with the Tigers so I figured I’d stop by and give a Reds fan perspective on him: He gets hurt a lot. When he does pitch there will be stretches where’s he just mows down the opposition and he looks like Nolan Ryan. Then there will be long stretches of mediocrity. He’s a very frustrating pitcher to watch because you will watch him at times and not understand why he isn’t one of the best pitchers in baseball. Then he will have 3 starts in a row where you’re wondering why he isn’t DFA’d immediately. His arms are massive. Looks like Popeye but on steroids. Anyways, hope everyone is doing well, congrats on the 2nd win in a row against the Buckeyes.
  16. After reading this thread, not sure who is worse: Avila or Nick Krall
  17. Being a Reds fan sucks so hard. No idea why I am still hanging on. I was shocked to see the Tigers and Angels were 2 of the 4 teams.
  18. Well, I don’t think any of the OL are going in the first round now. NPF was getting first round hype before today and after getting completely owned by Hutchinson all day he is a late 2nd/early 3rd I would guess now. i don’t think Stroud will go in first round. He faced 2 good defenses this year and wasn’t very good in either game. He’s young, but he’s more DeShone Kizer than Justin Fields IMHO. No OL will be first round picks. Wilson, JSN, and Olave will all be first round picks. Ruckert - nah Henderson - he’s good, but RBs rarely go in the first round anymore.
  19. OSU is gonna have to completely revamp the defense this offseason. Just terrible play. like I said 2 hours ago. Sincerely - congrats. I am genuinely happy for UM fans today.
  20. No, this has been domination by UM. I’m just saying, the idea the refs have missed only holding calls on OSU is hilarious when nothing has been called on UM today. A lot of that is because UM is playing basically perfect football. However, there have absolutely been a few missed calls.
