  1. Love that show! During the '20 election they ran it here all day, which was wonderful.
  2. I saw that too. Sigh... It's too bad the Wakefields couldn't keep it private. He seemed like one of the ones I'd like to have on my team, not just for talent but for personality, too.
  3. Every time I see a post like this, I think of the part of Life of Brian where one of his 'followers' says that people must 'follow the gourd!' And as funny as that movie was, it's not what I want to picture as my government.
  4. I'm so sorry! You're right, it's never enough time. Both of you are in my thoughts.
  5. That awkward moment when I realized that if I had a yard, I'd be yelling at people to 'get off of my lawn!'
  6. I found an oldie but goodie on the Tube: The Great Escape. Am watching it now.
  7. I'm seeing a familiar user name as our newest member.... is that our TTF from the old board?
  8. On that note.... the sound that my cat Logan makes when he sees a bird through the window is priceless. It's a cross between a chirp and a purr. ...so now you know I can't be trusted. 😉
  9. I don't disagree, actually-the crying emoji is because I agree. I'm lucky to have a better than average health plan, and wish that more people had access to this kind of care.
  10. The 2002 version of Insomnia was okay, but pales in comparison to the original Norwegian version. I'd recommend watching that one.
  11. Any drama geeks out there? I recommend Theater Camp. It's a fun movie, and I can think of a few on here who will appreciate the captions at the end saying what happened to the main characters next. ETA: There were lots of people in line waiting for Barbie to begin, and many were there to see both Barbie and Oppenheimer, back to back (both sold out). Even though Barbie isn't my thing, it's pretty cool to see people getting so into it.
  12. Am late to the party, but there's a special place in my heart for his version of To Be Or Not to Be.
  13. Who or what is Jason Aldean? Or maybe I don't want to know because I'm one of them city people? (actually I grew up in the country, in a town that was probably way smaller than wherever he's from, and that's how I know that people in small towns are neither better nor worse than anybody else).
  14. Good to know. I'd probably only want to stay for a day or two anyway-then on to the next place!
  15. My SIL is posting pictures from Mackinac Island, where she's attending a wedding, and now I want to go. My list of must see places is already too big.
  16. Xfinity email. Need I say more?
  17. It looks like a lot of the midwest/mid Atlantic has poor air quality right now. Sigh...
  18. The less than perfect lawn is actually a healthier lawn... and one way to prevent grass from turning brown in the event of a drought is to let it grow longer. Don't even get me started on overuse of pesticides and herbicides.
  19. It seems as if no matter when I go food shopping, there are always a bunch of people unpacking new inventory, and blocking half of the aisles, as well as many of the spots where the stuff I need to buy happens to be. Gotta love first world problems.
  20. As popular as I know them to be.... Why oh why do so many channels have Christmas in July movies? I suppose if they were actually good I wouldn't mind....as much. How can I miss the season, if it won't go away?
  21. I can hear my father saying that just because somebody else is even worse, doesn't make our wrongdoings any better.
  22. I.... can't even come up with words, at least not ones fit to print.
  23. The books The Warmth of Other Suns, and Caste (both by Isabel Wilkerson) also do an excellent job of describing this. I wish I could say my city was better... unfortunately I cannot.
  24. Very sorry to hear that. No matter how long you have them, it never feels like enough time....
