    Not that worried about Greene. Has has a triple, a walk and 103 mph 4 deg ground out tonight. Tork has stay with the selective approach that got him here.

    yeah, I think he's gotten a little long, but I don't care about that as much as what he swings at - he's chasing too much too.

    Brieske isn't far off. They'll prolly slot him with Tyler A as longer guys so Lange, Cisnero, Shreve have less to cover.

    Hmmm. I wonder if you only get one dip? I watched on for free last season but I can't watch this one without signing up. Could still cancel but that's more work than one Tiger game is worth. Is it the Bally broadcast crew or a different team?

    So Vierling didn't make a throw to 2nd that he could/should have? Doesn't matter - they only give Yaz one. Then he gets to 2nd anyway.....

    Oddly enough, I think he was looking for Javy to make a mistake to make an example of him rather than one of the new/younger guys - on the theory that it would be overall more instructive to all and less pressure on a player less able to deal with that than Javy.

    This game was an interesting example of how bad umpiring can be without causing much ruckus. The strike calling at the plate was atrocious but he was favoring each side about equally. If you got screwed on a call you could wait for the make-up -- which wouldn't take long.....

    The statement was contingent - I'm not saying Maton doesn't justify the trade, only that he needs to. I think he's looked pretty decent so far. I'm less impressed with Vierling in the field, but if he hits well that is going to be forgiven to some degree.

    tonight is why he didn't use Lange for two last night. Does it really matter which game you win? Hinch would say doing it his way he had a chance to win both. If the pen would stop imploding they will justify his strategy. We'll see.

    Maybin has a great background for doing color because he was a very skilled player who could do everything on the field - he just basically could never stay healthy enough to have more than a journeyman's career - so he has that perspective too. Good blend.

    maybe he thought there were 2 outs rather than he didn't see the ball, but who knows?

    And he is the 1st to admit it. On the plus side, he could flat out run a lot of fly balls - but he couldn't go back to save his life. Used to play almost at the fence when he wasn't in center.
