  1. Thanks Trump...
  2. It's just the whole "Walter Sobchak" routine that some vets or active duty do that's grating for me... Where they fall back on their service to short circuit any discussion that they don't like or doesn't comport to their views. Most aren't like this... a lot of vets that I know in my life are 3D people that don't have to center everything around their service. I've even seen cases where I've known people a long period of time before service even comes up. (My last neighbor before moving is a good example)
  3. Even though I understand Eddie's perspective and view, I understand this as well. For a variety of reasons I keep my thoughts to myself IRL unless directly asked... And even then I'm usually filtered
  4. Regarding the potential tariffs against Colombia, one thing Trump has never understood (or maybe just doesn't care about) is how much of our power in the world comes from being a trusted, reliable partner. It's soft power, but it has worked to our benefit as a country since the end of WWII Actions like this cede ground... And when ground is ceded, a vacuum is created. And vacuum's end up being filled by others (ie. China)
  5. Colombia is a big exporter of petroleum, coffee and tea... Plan accordingly
  6. Also very telling that he just completely ignores Tater's points and heads straight for a "For You" Twitter account making a lame joke. Just got nothing...
  7. Looks like Dr. Phil is embedded at the Hilton lol
  8. https://www.transportation.gov/RAISEgrants/raise-nofo Unions are now DEI apparently
  9. Amazing how all of these tech guys sound like 70s era Bond villains justifying their plans (that would exact a lot of pain on all of us) Real "Curt Jurgens talking about his amazing underwater utopia" energy lol
  10. The other piece is that when people hide behind their service to defend themselves, by extension, they are professing to speak for all service members and veterans. Which they don't. The Tuskegee Airman thing is a good example... Holic sits there and says NBD, yet I've seen at least two people in my FB feed who are vets (who otherwise don't talk about politics) pipe off about this in particular and what a crappy move it is. It's anecdotal, but not every vet feels like he does
  11. Framed in a different way, but this is not the first time this idea has been brought up, always seems to go unaddressed. Great question... Also, if and when the price for consumer goods skyrocket on account of shortages of workers to do these jobs, are we expected to just take it?
  12. I think they are worried about scripture, JV....
  13. https://www.tuskegeeairmen.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Statement_TAI_USAF_Training_Courses.pdf Oh really?
  14. While not really answering the question... He knows
  15. Curious to hear some sort of rationale for the the administration would do this. Or how it "Makes America Great Again"? I'll take my call off air
  16. Lest people think I was joking... https://apnews.com/article/air-force-dei-tuskegee-women-wwii-pilots-ecdeac68dc7696535d093c7690ab73bc
  17. Are we allowed to believe our eyes and ears yet?
  18. $4.69 at the local Aldi...
  19. Holic laughs, but we all know that political parties love to keep problems ongoing when they benefit from them
  20. I'm not going to defend the Ds and how they have handled the issue, they are a big reason we find ourselves here But let's be honest with ourselves: the GOP, even now, has zero interest in solving any problems related to immigration and the border.
  21. I mean, come on...
  22. Exactly. He's the POTUS, he's the one who campaigned on taking care of it and taking care of it quickly. Maybe when his administration gets done doing things like directing the Air Force not to teach about the Tuskegee Airman, they can get around with telling us how they plan to addressing high costs.
  23. I mean, when I see the administration taking a loaded gun and and threatening to shoot ourselves in the foot on this particular issue... Yeah, I'm going to hold that against them.
  24. Not threaten steep tariffs on other countries, for starters. I have yet to hear a compelling case that these are necessary
  25. I'm out of likes, but totally understand Eddie's POV.
